I clenched tightly on the detention slip I held in my hand. Walking past lockers and hallways, each with a memory of their own. I entered the classroom, only to scowl when I saw the messy state of your desk. They didn't even clean it up.
I crouched down and took the vase by the floor, which was surprisingly still in tact, and placed it on your desk. I then took out a jar from the teacher's table and poured water inside the vase. With a heavy sigh, I placed the crushed flower inside.
I sat on my seat, waiting for one entire hour for detention to end, and placed my hand underneath my chin. I continued to gaze on your desk, imaging your smile. I then remembered the way you would wait for me to sit by my desk, smiling and giggling when I sat on my seat.
" You know..."
I said, my voice groggy and croaked. From the screaming and from the sleepless nights of endless crying every night. I could feel the weight of my eye bags when I scrunched up my eyes.
"...I never told you how much I need you..."
I talked in front of your empty desk, as if I was talking to you personally.
"...I never told you how much you mean to me..."
With a shaking hand, I tried to reach up to you. Only to feel the cold breeze.
"...I promised to myself, no one would hurt you..."
My breath hitched as I felt a tear stray from my eye.
"...I broke my solemn promise, because I was hurting you..."
I then let out a pitiful sob that racked through my lungs.
" I love you so much."
