15: Torment

"Hey! Where the hell you will gonna take him?!" I yelled while I am walking fastly beside a demon. Not to mention, both of my wrists are bounded with chains.

He didn't answer me so I slammed my chained wrists on his arm as hard as I could but I think, I'm the one who got hurt.

My wrists feels so sore already but this is nothing compared to that angel, this is all my fault.

I races towards the male demon who is dragging Cassiel by his broken wings "Let him go!" I yelped back in pain when a woman with black hair and dark eyes dragged me back with brute strength.

She regarded me with a look who could just eat me alive by one stare "You are too noisy, human. It makes me want to chop your tongue off to shut you up."

"Tezrian, quit it. Let her do anything she wants. The archangel will die anyways and she will stay here forever because of the sins she commited" the male demon said to the woman called Tezrian.

Tezrian let go of my arm harshly and I nearly stumble on the back of the male demon.

I can hear Cassiel breathing heavily in pain and not just that, he can barely open his eyes because of the blood coming from his head.

While walking beside him, I cannot help but to look around in our surroundings. Everything's dark, and quite chilly. I was thinking that it is like Dante's Inferno but they gave the slightest expectation.

So I am bounded in the 7th mid circle. I am damned.

Reality drags me back when I noticed a huge throne with a person sitting on it, resting his cheek on his knuckle while regarding us with bored look.

Golden eyes.

"Lucifer.." I whispered audibly. Yet, his cruel cold eyes settles on Cassiel's injured form in front if him.

"Well, who do we got here an archangel and a girl who is bounded to die. " he smirks.

Tezrian kicks me at the back of my knee making me sprawl on the ground like a pathetic rag doll.

I bit out a scream because of pain when I felt my head hit the ground hard. Groggily, I slowly sit up and glares at Tezrian who gave me a blank look.

I heard Cassiel whimpered and I turn to see another male demon who pulled back the chain on his neck.

I wanted to help him but I can't, my wrists are chained and the only thing I can do is to move closer to him.

The angel gave me an encouraging smile "You'll be fine, Az will come and he will save us."

"Such false hope isn't, Cassiel? Azrael won't come here because I ask Zerachiel to distract him, or worse kill him" and a sadistic grin slowly graces Lucifer's lips.

Cassiel gave him a neutral look "God is in our side, he won't let his precious creations die just like that because of the pathetic strategies of Ose and Hecate. Really, poisoning their minds to kill themselves? I can see you are sinking into lower levels of intelligence, Lucifer."

I wanted to laugh on how he roasted the devil but it's a wise decision to keep my mouth shut.

Lucifer's lips pulled back into a snarl "Whip him, Dumah. Whip him senseless until he begs you to stop." he commanded the demon called Dumah.

Fear started to build up in my system when I saw how Dumah yanks Cassiel through his tunic, bringing him to his feet.

I cannot just let him die like that, isn't?
