The blizzard must not have hit this place very much, or the snow melted, because there was only a thin sheet of snow where we were.
We walked though the dense trees till it was too dark to see.
All of the light had been captured. With no houses or lights anywhere to be seen, it was pitch black.
J was the first to ask, "Should we stop to rest?"
We stopped in the middle of the woods.
J and I cleared the snow off of the ground with our hands.
I offered J his gloves back, but he wouldn't take them.
We laid down next to eachother.
"I don't have a name." I blurted out on accident.
I couldn't see him, but I felt like he was looking at me.
"Lydia Jane."
"What??"
"I named you," I could tell he was making that one smirk.
"Lydia Jane," I said sinking it in, that was my new name.
In the morning, I woke up before J.
I found the bush that J got the berries from. Most of them were picked over, but he forgot to look in the back of the bush.
"Good morning Lydia Jane."
I walked over and handed J some berries, "Good morning J."
I knew that these wouldn't hold us over for very long and we needed to get a different food supply.
We started to walk again. Not much later, we found a stream. We followed the stream until it turned into a large river.
Together we waded in the freezing cold water, laughing for no reason, and hand caught a fish.
Giggling, he pushed me over and then caught me before I fell into the water. I pushed him back and he fell into the water. I was cracking up, I had to hold my stomach, I stumbled on top of him.
Next thing I knew, I was on J.
Not playing around or laughing, J quickly pushed me off and got up.
I fell back and hit my head on a rock.
