Mariah held Oliver's hand and mine while we were on our way to class. She told him about the teachers he will have, making him scared of the students she told him about. I just stood quietly because it wasn't really my scene.
"So, are you thinking about joining any clubs?" She asked him, letting him have time to talk."Uh, yeah. Is there gaming club? Something that is...uh nerdy?" He asked, trying to keep up with her. She was walking fast, and hell, even I couldn't keep up.
"Oh no, you don't want to join those suckers. They are such losers and perverts. Trust me, avoid them." She said and looked over at me. I squinted my eyes at her and was really confused.
"There is a gaming club if you want to join. Some of them are idiots, but just because they are, doesn't mean you can't join. I'm thinking about joining too. Be the only girl in that club." I said, and Mariah sucked her teeth.
"Um no, you aren't! They totally hate girls in their club and if one was to be in their club, they would all like gang up on you." She whispered that last part for some reason. I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Well, they must if I'm gonna play games and they need to watch me win. Girls shouldn't be afraid to join their damn club just because they say no. Girls can play video games too." I said and walked ahead of her. The three of us entered our first class and found Violet and her crush sitting together. They were really close together.
"Damn, that was fast," Mariah said, and pulled Oliver and I. We sat in a row, with Mariah in the middle. Then Mariah squeaked loudly.
"I have to go back and welcome people! I'll be back!" She yelled and ran out the class. It was just me and gamer boy. Game Boy, I thought and laughed at the thought.
"Well, she's certainly a hand full." He said and chuckled.
"Yeah, she's always been like that. She once dragged her dad to American Girl and they had breakfast at the café and made him drink tea like a 'lady'. That poor guy." I said and made him laugh.
"So, do you like it here? At Bluedell?" He asked me.
"It's okay. It's not paradise where everyone is happy and loves each other. I've known all these since I was a kid. They all remained the same. Total jerks." I said, and he nodded his head.
"I just have trouble fitting in. I just like things that I feel like others wouldn't." He said and looked down. He lifted his glasses up again and smiled at me. The bell rang and soon everyone came inside. Violet and her "friend" said bye to each other since this was not his class. She then moved closer to us and met Oliver.
"Violet Henderson! I'm not a friendly person." She said and shook his hand. I rolled my eyes at her and then the class began. Government class, yay.

It was lunch now, or as I liked to call it, Recess for Little Boys and Girls, and Mariah welcomed Oliver to our table of sad misfits. He held his lunch tray and shook the tray as if he was nervous. It was probably because Mariah was a handful and he felt like everything he did was wrong to her."Everyone, this is Oliver! He's gonna sit with us unless he finds someone better than us, which won't happen." Mariah said and smiled at him. She made space for him at the table and they both sat together. Our other friends welcomed him. Rory Caster, Thomas Wheeler, Cole Wyatt, and Hayden Locke. They were the plus-fours to our group and I don't really know why Mariah adopted them. She doesn't like them...at all.
"Hi." They all said, but it didn't sound very welcoming, well Hayden was the only one that was nice to him. He smiled at all of them and turned to his food, which he just played with, but I'm sure it was just disgusting. It was something that was still alive.
