Chapter 4

Ava's pov:

It's been about 2 days since that little incident with Jace.

Thank God it was the weekend so I didn't have to face him. But tomorrow was Monday and I'll have to present the stupid project with that jerk.

I've been thinking about what I'm going to do to him.

I decided I'm going to follow him everywhere and be the most annoying, disgusting girl he's ever met.

Maybe I'm taking it too seriously, but hey he deserves it.

I have to admit I'm a little hurt at how Jace acted. I actually really liked him, but now I know he's just a jerk.

I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about Jace.

We barely met and I already hate him. Why is he so rude?

It's like he has all these walls up and doesn't let anyone in, maybe he just needs a friend.

The little voice in the back of head kept telling me that he's a jerk and doesn't deserve any friends.

I know that's not true, even if he is mean. Everyone needs at least one friend.

So after thinking about it for about another hour or so, I decided to change my plan.

Instead of annoying Jace, I was going to try and be his friend. No matter how rude or mean he is to me, I won't give up.

I woke up Monday morning determined to be Jace's friend.

I'm not going to lie I was really nervous.

I rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom. I did my usual routine and washed my face,brushed my teeth blah blah blah.

I went to pick my outfit out, but I couldn't pick just any outfit. I had to look my best, if I was going to win Jace over.

I decided to go with a spaghetti strap floral crop top and light wash high waisted shorts.

These are my favorite pair of shorts, they fit me perfectly, which is why I chose them.

I threw on a cream colored cardigan and some brown sandals.

I curled my hair because I think curled hair looks best on me.

I put my make up on making sure not to over do it.

I ran downstairs and grabbed an apple. Ashley was taking me to school today, so I waited for her outside.

Once i got into the car with Ashley we drove to school. We didn't really talk so it was quiet most of the way. It wasn't that awkward silence, it was more of a comfortable silence.

When we got to school we went and sat with Jeanette. I contemplated on telling Jeanette and Ashley my plan, but decided to keep it to myself.

First period was a blur because all I could think about was talking to Jace.

Finally the bell rang and I rushed out the door and into the hall.

I was almost to my class when I ran into something hard. I looked up and found Nick looking down at me.

"Hey Ava" he said with a smirk. "Hi...um can you move I really have to get to class" I said annoyed.

Ok so Nick and I used to have a thing, but that was during freshman year. We're friends now and that's how it's going to stay.

"Sorry no can do" he still had that smirk on his face, like he knew he was going to do something I didn't like.

"Nick seriously get out of my way" I tried to move, but he kept blocking me.

He pushed me up against a locker and put his arms next to each side of my head, so I couldn't get away.

He leaned in closer to me and whispered " I want you back Ava".

I was a little surprised at how close we were. "Nick we're friends remember, we talked about this" I said kind of out of breathe.

"I know Ava, but you're so beautiful" he began to lean in closer. I heard my breath hitch and I froze.

I liked Nick, but just as a friend. I knew he was going to kiss me, but I didn't move.

Jace's pov:

I was on my way to history when I saw Ava speed walking down the hall.

She looked beautiful as always and I couldn't stop the smile that appeared on my face.

I noticed someone had stopped her and was now blocking her path. I couldn't see his face but I could see Ava's and she looked annoyed.

I continued to watch as they continued to talk. I noticed Ava tried to get away from the guy, but he kept blocking her.

I thought about going over there and helping her, but I remembered I have to stay away.

The guy pushed her up against some lockers and got closer. This made me kind of angry at how close they were.

Then the impossible happened. He started leaning into her, but she wasn't moving.

I knew he was going to kiss her and I wanted to rip him off of her. I watched and they kissed for what seemed like hours, but was probably more like seconds.

I couldn't take it anymore, my anger quickly rose the more I watched them.

I lost it and punched one of the lockers, leaving a dent.

They both quickly turned towards me, but I ran so they couldn't see it was me.

I can't do this. I can't stay away from her, I need her. I want her.

You're not good for her, I started to think.

I don't care, I need her and I will get her.
