It was around three in the morning when my body had woken up and said it was time to begin the day. I sighed as I moved the covers from off of my body and opened the window, needing some of the nice summer breezes to come inside and cool the hotel room down. I walked back over to the bed and climbed in. I could already feel the breeze coming in.

Katherine began to move around. I couldn't tell if she was going to wake up or if she was just uncomfortable and trying to find a better sleeping position. She pulled the blankets up a little bit and faced me, eyes closed. She was still sleeping. You would have thought that she would have woken up already. I went through my phone, hoping that sleep would take over me once more. Just a few more hours would be nice.

A knock at the door interrupted me from going through my phone. Who would be knocking at my room door at this hour? I knew that some of the guys had stayed in their rooms and some had decided to head downstairs for some snacks and other things like that. The guys treated hotels like they were back at the house still. I moved the covers off of my body and grabbed one of the room keys from the nightstand. I slid both my phone and the key in my pocket and walked over to the door. Without looking through the peephole, I opened the door. There stood in front of me was someone I thought I would never see until the trial.

"Blake, hello. Long time since we last seen each other." Vincent Rutherford. Someone who was dangerous, but not in New York. Vincent Rutherford had a dark past and an even darker present. He was a powerful leader in California, but no one ever suspected him because he came off as this nice person before showing his true colors.  I stepped out and closed the door behind me. I looked up and down the hall before looking back at him.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"Well, I heard about you testifying and I just knew that I had to come and see you. Especially since we both agreed that we would not discuss this with anyone. That meant running to the police and trying to make me go jail. You were a part of the murder too. You decided to run and clean up the mess."

"You know why I cleaned it all up. You said that she was in trouble and that she wouldn't make it out alive unless I did what you said to do. You knew how I loved her and how much I would have gone to make sure she was safe. I was a fool to let her meet you, but that didn't matter to you. You couldn't wait to get me away from her so you could sneak in there and try to get her from me." He took a few steps back from me. He pulled out his phone and typed away on the small device. What was he trying to do now? Make me feel guilty for what I said or trying to prove some type of point?

"Well, I guess you wouldn't mind seeing her again, am I correct?" Does he mean that he came all this way to make me give false information the police? Especially when Katherine's mom is one of the detectives working on the case? I took a deep breath and shook my head. I had to face her like nothing had changed and that I wasn't going to start something that ended seven months ago. I could do this, even if I needed Katherine's help once again. If only she was awake and prepared to act.

"I don't care."

"Why are you lying to me, Blake?"

"I'm not Vincent. I'm perfectly fine with you guys together, but I'm not on good terms with you at all. Sure, I may seem like I'm frustrated, but only frustrated because you both began to cheat around. That night I cleaned up the mess is when I caught you both. Not to mention that it was in my apartment. Luckily, I've moved." Vincent laughed a little bit before walking behind me. I turned around and saw her again. I hadn't seen her in awhile and for once, I found myself not worried about her when I'm with Katherine.

Katherine.

"Blake, I haven't seen you in awhile. How are you?" She tried to give me a hug, but I denied it. I stepped back not wanting a hug from anyone. I sighed a little bit before leaning against the hall wall. She nodded and wrapped her arm around Vincent. Vincent shook his head.
