Chapter Fifteen

Josh woke up and began pacing around his room. Since Maya had lived with her he had many dreams but this was different. He woke up in bed naked, he drank last night and he knows that even drunk Josh wouldn't have brought anyone home. Especially because of his feelings for Maya. The only other explanation was they had finally slept together but why wasn't Maya there when he woke up in the morning.

These are the kinds of things that Josh would normally talk to Shawn about. He was like a cool older brother. But that cool older brother might lose some of that cool if he was to find out it was his step daughter that Josh had slept with. Cory can't keep his mouth shut and Shawn would find out so there was only one option left. He picked up his phone and FaceTimed his ex best friend.

"Hey Josh, why do you look so bad?"

"Thanks Destiny. I need your help"

"Does this have something to do with a certain gorgeous blonde that lives with you"

"Yes"

"Kiss her, sleep with her, tell her that you love her and I expect an invitation to the wedding"

"Destiny can we be serious for like five minutes. One of those things on the list though I think I already have done"

"Hmm well you are a Matthews so I'm guessing you confessed your love for her"

"Nope. I went to a party last night, go drunk and woke up in my bed naked. There is literally no sign of anyone else being the house and Maya's door is closed. What happens if this isn't what she wanted"

"Oh wow, um I wasn't expecting that. Matthews you dawg" she laughed before realising the look on Josh's face. "Look I'm going to break every girl code rule and tell you something because you two need to get your shit together. She likes you Josh. When she came home the other night we had a talk. So get your butt up and stop feeling sorry for yourself. So buy her some chocolates or flowers and admit to her how you feel"

"Thanks Destiny, Im just not sure -"

Destiny cut him off. "I swear to God Matthews I will come down to that apartment and not leave until I get you two together. Now I have to get ready for work but I expect an update. Bye Josh"

"See ya"

Josh couldn't help but think maybe Destiny was right. He walked down to the store on the corner and picked up a box of Maya's favourite chocolates and a small bunch of flowers. Maya had heard him leave and she was worried this was it. They would awkwardly live together in the apartment until Josh got sick of her and kicked her out. Josh wasn't sure what to say, he didn't know if he was really doing the right thing. After last night though there wasn't any going back really. He had hoped they would maybe going on a few dates first before all this was to happen.

Josh walked back into the apartment to find Maya's door still closed. He wasn't sure whether to go all out and admit everything at once. He put his hand on the handle and turned it slowly. Maya was laying on her bed listening to music. He sat down next to her and caught her attention.

"Maya I don't know what last night was to you but it definitely wasn't a mistake to me. I have loved you for years. It just didn't feel right until you were sixteen and well we all know who you ended up with. I sat back and took on the best friend role and I want you to know I didn't get you to move in with me to take advantage of you i just wanted to help. I have tried my hardest from the moment you walked through that door to push the feeling aside but turns out I can't because I need you Maya. I need you in my life and I really hope that you feel the same way. So um I got you these" He gave her the chocolates and flowers. All Maya did was smile. "I got some advice this morning from someone and they told me I should just tell you. So basically if you got anything out of this I just want you to know that I really like you Maya and I hope you can give me a chance"

Maya didn't say anything she just dropped the chocolates and flowers on the floor and basically launched herself at him.

A/N: well do we want some more steamy stuff? Might be a while before I update going it be a bit busy next week
