Ali's POV:

''Anybody?'' I asked. Everybody seemed really hesitant about it at first. ''Can I be a lights person?'' asked Kaylee. ''Come on, guys,'' I said. ''You guys will have auditions, get picked for a role, and if you don't like it, you can back down and choose a different one if you want. It'll be fun.'' Only the crickets responded. I sighed. ''Ok. Fine. I'll give you guys a pizza party if you join.''

''A play sounds like a great idea!'' said Bee. ''I want to be Dorothy!'' said Lemon. ''Why didn't you just say so?'' asked Kaylee. ''COUNT ME IN!'' Screamed Cody, which did get us more looks.

After we all signed up, auditions were to be held after school. None of us could wait, and I was actually pretty happy that we could all be in the play together. "I'm pretty sure auditions are the 12th." I said as I examined the paper, leaving none of it untouched by my eyes. Kaylee stood by my side with her back up against the wall, watching my every move. I glanced up at her, "Something interest you?" I asked, more sarcasm in my voice than I'd thought. "Uhh, no..." Her face grew red. I wonder what that's about.

Kaylee's Pov:

Uhhg, why'd she have to make it sound like that? She makes it sound as if I like her like that. God, just thinking about it makes my face turn redder every minute. "Kaylee! Get your head out of the clouds and come on!" Lemon said, growing more and more excited as we approached the auditorium. Today was just getting used to the environment, and working up on stage with everyone watching. "Uhhhg... I don't want to do this anymore... " Cody said with a sigh. I could feel his nervousness through the floor.

''THINK ABOUT THE PIZZA!'' Ali said to Cody, but it didn't make him more active at all.

"Alright, students! Attention to me please. HEY!" Lemon and Cody snapped to attention, "Eyes down here when I'm talking." Lemon replied with, "Yes, ma'am." While Cody stood in shock. I nudged Cody and he immediately flashed a glance at me. He was way too jumpy. ''Cody...'' I said. ''Listen. Stay calm, jeez.'' It didn't help very much.

''You,'' said the director. ''Go to page 16 in the script and read to me Dorothy's part. I want to see how loud and clear your voice is.'' I couldn't tell who she was pointing at because the light was so bright. ''HEY!'' Said the director. Then I could tell she was pointing at me. "Are you paying attention? This isn't a very good start for you, young lady." My mind screamed at me immediately. Then, without thinking, I realized that I was at page 12 in my script and reading Dorothy's part as loud as possible. I got looks, and at the end turned down in embarrassment.

The director had no comment. Instead, she pointed to some other kids and one by one got them to read through different parts in the script. I just looked down at my feet the whole time.

-Not So Dramatic

Lemon's POV:

Wow, I thought. That wasn't bad. I found myself looking at Kaylee, who looked really, really embarrassed. Poor Kaylee. I wish I could help her out, but I'm frozen in place. I'm just as nervous as everybody else, who's eyes are locked on the director, like everybody was dreading their turn to read. Some of the kids were looking up in confidence, but all of them turned down as soon as they were called on. Wait, I hadn't been called yet. Ugh. "You," said the director. She pointed at Ali. Ali looked at me in panic. "Good luck," I worded.

This time, the director gave her a choice. ''Who's part have you been looking forward to in the script?'' She asked. We hadn't even been through the script yet, but I assumed we all knew the characters based off of the story. Ali hesitantly answered, ''Uhhhhmmmm...... I kinda wanna be Dorothy.'' I could see how jealous everybody else looked, one that she got a choice, and two that she wanted the main character that everybody knows and loves. Bee's glare looked murderous.

''On second thought,'' said Ali. ''Um... Aunt Em.'' Before anybody could say anything she said, ''SORRY! SORRY! The, uh, I meant the... Wicked Witch.'' Everybody kinda calmed down after that, but I felt bad for Ali. Nobody would want to be the Wicked Witch. Still, she was kinda happy.

She didn't make Ali audition or anything after that. She was making mixed moves. By my luck, I was called on after her. ''You,'' she said. I wished that she would at least call us by our names. ''Sing to me the solo part on page 25 from the Lion.''

Oh f*ck.

-Leaping Lion

Cody's POV:

I was struck still, I couldn't think. Then I heard, "You," And I looked up, thinking I was caught off guard, but then I realized she was looking at Lemon. "Sing to me the Lion's solo on page 25." Then he stood wide-eyed. He sings all the time around us, It shouldn't make a difference. "Uhh... Uhh...." He started singing, "But I could change my habits, Never more be scared of rabbits, If I only had the nerve." And he continued at a rather high pitch tone, doing everything in his power to mimic the sound the lion made. "R-r-r-r-r-r-r-roarrrr..." I stood there, surprised that he could even do that.

Kaylee although, she came off the stage and sat in the crowd, crying in the seats, with Ali and Bee comforting her. She must've really had it rough. I'm still up on stage, although it hadn't been my turn. "You," I looked up, and she said, "Turn to page 6 and read the scarecrow's lines, Dorothy can read dorothy." Bee came up to the stage, and decided to SCREAM TO TAKE EYES OFF CODY

-Scary Scarecrow

Ali's POV

I watched as Bee purposefully screamed to take the heat off of Cody. Then, Cody said his lines, no problem. I think that everybody was embarrassed after that.

''Did you see that?'' I asked to Kaylee, who was still having a meltdown, trying to keep my glare away from Bee. ''That was really, really embarrassing.'' Kaylee smiled a little bit. Luckily, there were other people who did worse. One guy didn't say anything at all when asked to repeat his lines. After Bee's audition, which was great, really, auditions were over and our parts were to come in the next morning. Kaylee was still really crushed about her audition, and we all became really nervous when the director asked to see her in private before we left.

We all waited outside the auditorium for Kaylee. It didn't take long, and I kinda expected her to come out crying, but she was beaming instead. ''Guess what?'' Said Kaylee. ''Yeah?'' Lemon said. ''I've been moved to the backstage crew, sound and lighting.''

''Nice!'' said Bee. ''Not bad,'' commented Lemon. I felt happy for her because she liked tech and all that junk that I'll never understand.

WOW KAYLEE. WOW. YEAH I UNDERSTAND THAT ''JUNK'' YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. I WANTED TO BE ON CREW, BUT MY DREAMS ARE ALWAYS CRUSHED. YEEEAH. YAEH. XD

That night was also the meetup for the gaming club. It was kind of like a ''get to know everybody'' and ''understand what we'll be doing'' meeting. I had barely made it into the club because I had also been signed up for the cooking club, but their meetings were every Wednesday, and the gaming club's was every Monday. These are the clubs we all had:

Ali: Cooking club - Gaming Club

Kaylee: Gaming club - Book Club

Lemon: Gaming club leader

Bee: Gaming club - Drama Club

Cody: Gaming club

None of us could wait for the meeting.
