Chapter 4 : First session
The building was tall . Almost like the ones you would see in the movies.
I step inside and the cold yet warm aroma greets my nostrils. A kind elderly woman sat behind a large desk . She was sorting what seemed like a hundred files.
Walking up to the desk I started having second thoughts. Should I really do this ? , what help would it even offer?.
"Excuse me". I kindly say to her.
"Appointment or walk in?". She answers barely looking at me.
"Appointment , I'm here to see Ms. Gabriel".
"Third floor". She points to the elevator.
I walk over , taking deep breaths as I step inside and push the button for the third floor.
Should I really be doing this ?.
The long ding of the elevator wakes me up from the daydream I was possibly about to have. Stepping out I walk from door to door until I found Gabriel Hernandez .
Knocking I open the door and walk in.
"Then set the meeting for Friday , no exceptions". She says hanging up the phone.
"Busy?". I sarcastically say to her .
She smiles. Pointing for me to take a seat. I sit , admiring her office , admiring her.
She was indeed stunning. Her freshly curled hair hung loosely above her shoulders . Her bright red lipstick with her nicely fitted black pants suit.
"Shall we begin?".
"We shall, first question, how old are you?". I ask fixing myself properly in the chair .
"23 , 24 next year , you ?". She replies.
"Same as well".
"Why do I feel like this session is going to turn more into a long interview?". She chuckles.
I didn't know what it was , but something inside of me just wanted to hear her laugh, over and over again , it made me happy in a way.
"It can also become that yes , it is only the beginning you know we have to get to know each other before we get all personal". I smile at her.
Her cheeks flashed pink and that indicated that she was indeed blushing.
"I graduated high school at the age of 16 , went on to college and decided helping others was my thing , now I'm doing what I love". I hear the joy in her voice , how honest she was being."People say I'm crazy , but I think everyone has a way of expressing how they truly feel".
"I can understand that , some can be more difficult to handle than others". I sigh .
"And that's fine , that's why I'm here to help you get through this , help try to make you whole again , fix the broken you that you are now". Her voice was so reassuring and beautiful.
And how much I wanted her to continue talking each time she stopped.
"I'm still trying to sort of figure out my life , I'm fresh out of college with a degree in business, I'm just not sure what I want to do yet". I laugh a bit.
Here I was , after so many tiny prep talks about how I wouldn't go crazy and open up to her . And here I was , doing just that.
