The morning light peaked through my blinds and hit my eyelids, which naturally drew me out of my sleep.
I laid still for a moment, remembering where I was; LA.
I stirred a bit then felt a familiar warmth from the other side of me. A girl.
It didn't take me long to remember which one she was. I specifically picked her out and pursued her, for what seemed like the entire night.
She stood out to me, not only was she nothing like the girls I normally bring home, but she wasn't like any other girl at the club. Everything about her was different, even her name. The tips of her hair were faded pink and blue, her nose was pierced, had tattoos and she wore all black. But my god she was beautiful.
I flipped over to see her pink hair sticking out from under the thick duvet.
I took a moment to flashback to last night's events, then I thought of what normally happens. I usually call them a cab and send them on their way home. This time however, I did not want this to be the end of our endeavors.
So I decided to put some pants on and go make some breakfast.
"Morning Ash" Calum chuckled from the couch, where he was sat next to Luke playing FIFA. Probably laughing at how I was so against going out last night, when I was the one who had the best luck. Before we even got home Mike threw up on his "date" and we ended up just dropping her off at her home. And as for Cal, him and his girl just passed out in the backseat.
"Morning Cal." I rolled my eyes.
"Quite an interesting girl you brought home last night." Michael commented as he sipped his coffee at the counter. He laughed, "Kinda looked like me."
"And me!" Luke called from the couch next to Calum.
"Shut up." They were obviously referring to her hair, piercings & the amount of black in her outfit. "How do you even remember what she looked like? You were wasted. Do you even remember the girl you threw up on?"
"That I what?" His eyes grew wide.
I laughed hard as I grabbed ingredients from the fridge.
"You don't remember the super fit girl you barfed on in the car?" Emphasizing what a catch she was, even though she really hadn't been.
"Wait.. She didn't make it here?" Michael staring at the counter obviously trying to recall what exactly happened last night.
I laughed, "No we dropped her off, she was so disgusted with you."
Mike took another sip of his coffee as he watched me struggling to crack an egg.
"Is she still here?" He said referring to my girl.
"Yep." I said, focusing more on not getting any egg shell in the pan.
"And you're cooking for her?"
I don't know if he was so surprised that I was actually cooking, or that I was cooking for a girl from a one night stand.
"What a gentleman. She musta been really fucking good at whatever she did to you last night." Mike smirked. The boys were always giving me a hard time about how nice I was. Which I never understood because it's not like they're particularly awful people. They're just about as kind as I am, I just show it more I suppose.
"Shut the fuck up Michael." I poured the newly scrambled eggs into two bowls and made my way back to my bedroom.
I walked in to see a phone in front of messy hair. She peaked out her head from behind the phone.
"Aspen." She said casually.
I hesitated and stared for a moment trying to comprehend what she was trying to tell me.
"My name. It's Aspen." She laughed and winked at me. "In case you forgot. Most guys forget."
"Oh no, I remembered." I proudly stated as I carefully sat in front of her on the messy bed. She naturally moved her legs. "Do you remember mine?"
She was quiet for a moment and a look of worry washed over her face, as if she had just been told about a pop quiz.
"Uhh.... Austin!" She said confidently.
I laughed, "Ashton."
"Oh.. Sorry." She giggled.
"It's fine." I said looking around the room to see the sprawl of clothes.
She stared down at my lap, and laughed, "Awh, did you make me breakfast in bed?"
"Oh yeah!" I had forgotten about the eggs. I motioned one bowl towards her. "I can get you some coffee if you're hungov-"
"I'm not," She said quickly, and then making a disgusted face at the bowl in front of her. "And I'll pass on the eggs. But thanks."
"You're not hungry?" I said bringing the bowl back to me.
"No.. I totally am." She smiled. "I'm just not a fan of eggs."
"Well I can see if we ha- wait," Taking in what she had just said, "Wait you don't like eggs?"
She shook her head no, with an almost proud look on her face.
"That is so strange!" I laughed. "I've never heard of someone not liking eggs before."
"Well I'm not exactly normal." She motioned to the ends of her hair and chuckled.
"I guess you're right," I laughed again. "I can see if I can get you some toast? Do you like Vegemite?"
"Do I like WHAT?" She almost spat.
"You've never had Vegemite!" I stood up.
She laughed hard this time. "Absolutely not, that sounds like vegetable fertilizer."
"I can guarantee it's not, I'll go get you some on toast!" I started my way to the door.
"Hey curly!" I heard her call from behind me.
"Yeah?" I spun on my heal to face her again.
She smiled and raised an eyebrow, "Do you treat all your one night stands like queens?"
I thought the question over for a moment. I found it silly that she referred to a nice gesture as being treated like royalty. It made me wonder how people normally treated her. I gave her a quick smile, "No."
