Bjarke (BYARH-ke meaning 'bear') Skjeggestad
He was adecorated and somewhat feared Berserker in his time. He also became a Housecarl in Kettaget for Ragnar and Aslaug. Bjarke wasn't much of a father figure before and after both his children's births. However, he did express alot more interest to Gerd than Hillevi. Most described Bjarke as ruthless, strong, distant lover/parent, and unpredictable in battle.Hillevi (hi-LEH-vi meaning 'happy in war' )
Bjarke's first born and the cause of death to his wife. Hillevi has a very ambitious, headstrong, and fierce personality. Despite disliking her half sister in childhood, she later grows to love Gerd.Gerd (means 'enclosed') Bjarke's second daughter who is mute. Gerd is very much the opposite of her sister. She is very timid, fair-minded, gentle but underneath the calm layer lies her father's berserker nature.
Olin (O-lin means "hallowed")
A mute, intelligent, and stoic freeman who works as a blacksmith in Kettaget. Bjarke befriends him and he acts as a sort of uncle to Hillevi and Gerd when their mothers pass away. He also shows fatherly affection to both girls and watches over them.Johanne
A thrall (slave) from Paris who serves Aslaug and later Lagertha. She is a motherly figure to Bjarke's daughters and a lover to Olin.
