Time slips through our fingers
and it is never here to stay,
She always was so bright
until she lost him one day.
He was only behind a curtain,
yet to her the world seemed so dark.
In her heart there was still a divot
where he had left a mark.
As she scrambled to move the curtain,
her sadness forced her to trip.
No one knows it for certain,
that she caused that curtain to rip.
But do not despair,
this story has no sad end,
for she lifted the curtain
that time seemed to mend.
And as the light shone through
onto her face,
she realized that he was indeed there
in every person and place.
And as time goes by,
be it as it may,
she will open another curtain
and see him again someday.
