There was a horror
a decade ago,
it was in a store
it gave me quite a blow.
I was skipping along,
only three years old,
holding my mommy's hand
but then she let go...
At first I didn't comprehend,
I just bounced over to a bright pink aisle
looking at the tiaras near the end,
I was there for a while.
But then I realized that she was gone
and then i realized more
I was a helpless fawn
In a very big store.
What should I do, I thought to myself
I zoomed from aisle to aisle
I looked past every shelf
It felt like I ran a mile.
I can't go to the lady
at the checkout
she's too shady
she has a very big snout.
I thought and I thought
about where she could be,
maybe she was where I left her
I thought I had the key.
I skipped to the aisle
where she let go,
next to a boxed pile
and now I know,
She was there the whole time
in the same place
I was so relieved
you should have seen my face.
I ran up to her and said ugh!
I missed you there for awhile!
Then I gave her a hug
which made her smile.
So if you ever get lost
and can't find your mom,
just look where she was
and remember, stay calm!
