As we all know, Lapis Lazuli was trapped with Jasper at the bottom of the ocean in a fusion in order to save the crystal gems, but more specifically Steven. Malachite rose from the ocean at the time of the cluster, and Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl split up the fusion. They took Lapis back to the barn, where she tried to go back to Homeworld, but ended up living with Peridot. That's the story we've all been told. But is that how it really happened?
Lapis broke up Malachite for a day when she "Accidentally" poofed Jasper. She was sitting at the bottom of the ocean waiting for Jasper to reappear so she could force another fusion. At this time, Peridot was still a loyal diamond gem, and she had come to the bottom of the ocean to get samples and do research. She wasn't expecting to see anyone at the bottom of the ocean, especially not an old teammate. So, when she walked accidentally into the blue gem, she was pretty startled.
"CLOD!" She yelled with her eyes closed, punching Lapis on reflex. She opened her eyes and saw it was Lapis. "What are you doing here? What happened to Jasper?"
"Poofed," Lapis said glancing towards the poofed, orange gem's direction. "I... got mad..."
"WHAT!?" Peridot said with anger in her voice, shoving Lapis down to run to Jasper. "How could you do this to our friend!?" Peridot yelled dramatically. "And the mission! I've been on this clump of rock called a planet for days! What happened?!" Peridot said, anger still in her voice.
"It's because she is not my friend," Lapis replied, anger building up. "Neither are you!" Lapis yelled. Taking a deep breath in, she continued, "I don't understand this mission, okay?"
"Um, okay?" Peridot said with a questioning expression, and a more confused than mad tone. "Well I never liked you anyways, you clod!" She yelled, anger returning to her voice.
"Look, I live here now, ok?" Lapis shot back gritting her teeth. "Just take your stupid samples, and find some way back to Homeworld!"
"Fine," Peridot said in a more sassy-than-mad tone. "Then we will never meet again!"
"That's fine with me," Lapis said.
Peridot grunted, and then proceeded to pick up various rocks and sand, and even grab some water. Then, muttering a quick "clod", blasted upwards to the water's surface.
And Lapis, who hated to admit it, was a little sad that she'd left.
She turned around and walked away from the poofed, orange gem's direction, head hanging low.
Hours later, Jasper reappeared.
"Lapis, LET ME GO!" Jasper yelled.
"I WON'T!" Lapis yelled back. "You are my prisoner, and you will do everything I say! You will NEVER stop!" Lapis yelled again. Her eyes lit up with hatred, and they looked just as they did when she was cracked.
"Oh, please!" Jasper yelled at Lapis. "I will shatter you to pieces before you, a Lapis Lazuli, shatters me, a strong quartz! I am Jasper, and if you think you will shatter me, you are very mistaken!"
Lapis looked down, and in a sad voice said, "You're right. Lets just get back to homeworld."
Jasper, shocked, said, "Yes!" and started swimming towards land.
"Jasper," Lapis said, "It will take forever for both of us to swim up through all this water. Let's fuse, Malachite will get up there faster."
Jasper snickered, and said, "I see you're finally thinking for once. You're right." She then held out her hand.
Lapis took it. They had to keep attempting fusion, because Jasper kept laughing at the thought of a Lapis Lazuli being her master. Finally, after Lapis having to scold Jasper, they got the fusion correct.
"Come on!" the Jasper part of Malachite yelled, just as they formed.
"Ok!" the Lapis part yelled back, in a suspiciously upbeat tone.
Water chains then appeared, and cuffed around Malachite's arms. Jasper was trapped once again, and had fallen for Lapis's trap.
The Lapis part of Malachite cackled, thinking of just how dumb Jasper really was, and the sound of her laughter drowned out the Jasper part's threats.

Thanks! ^v^ I had to use a reference picture for Lapis's hair, because I wanted it to be kinda wild and messy, and I didn't think I could really do that myself, haha.
