Jordan Hill.

Blowing a cloud of smoke from my lips, I watched the raindrops fall from the sky through my bedroom window as I sat on the side of my bed with a blunt in my left hand and a glass of water in the other. Watching the rain always seemed to calm me. Ever since I was a young boy I would watch it and become lost in my thoughts. The rain gave me a clearer aspect on my life and the things going on in it. After my time with Sabrina this afternoon, I realized that she would always choose Sean over me. As much as I try to fight away my feelings for her, they always seem to surface back around. I know I can't have her but there's that hope that I get a chance. I highly doubt it because she's always expressing how much our friendship means to her. Basically saying she doesn't want to cross that line of getting into a relationship with me. But if I'm being honest, an intimate relationship with her would complicate things. We're too much alike and that only goes so far.

The sound of a car door slamming shut outside of my house brought me back to reality. I took one last long puff of my blunt before putting it out in the ashtray next to me and leaving it there on the rim. I rose from my bed and stepped closer to my window, peeking out to see whose car was in my driveway. I rolled my eyes at the familiar grey Nissan while releasing the smoke from my lips. I hurried away from the window and walked toward my bedroom door, exiting it and heading toward the front door. My house was a one story so the by the time I made it there, she was standing on the other side, ringing my doorbell. I sighed while unlocking the door and snatching it open. The chocolate toned young woman stared at me as she stood across from me and held her umbrella over her head, protecting herself from the pouring rain. Neither of us said anything. We just admired each other. I allowed my eyes to skim over her attire, consisting of a pair of skinny jeans, a blue windbreaker, most likely mine, and a pair of rain boots. I could tell her intentions had nothing to do with going anywhere in public due to her bare face and choice of wardrobe.

"What are you doing here," I questioned with my right hand resting on the side of the door while sliding my hand into my front pocket and staring into her deep brown orbs.

"I can't come see my man," she questioned while looking into my eyes. "Have you been smoking? And without me? You know what," she said before letting a sigh slip from her naturally pink lips while stepping closer to the door.

I pursed my lips while glancing over my shoulder behind me and stepping aside, allowing her in. She smirked while biting her bottom lip and lowering the umbrella, closing it. I took it from her and set it on side of the door. I then shut it and locked it back.

"You know my mama don't like you and to answer your other question, yes, I have."

She rolled her eyes before pushing my shoulder, causing me to stumble back a little. "Your mother loves me. Stop lying," she laughed.

"But my parents aren't here and you know the rules. You can't really be here. They'll kill me," I responded.

Alana and I met during her freshman year through a mutual friend. Her best friend was dating my male best friend. Everyone expected us to date because of that but neither of us really wanted a relationship. We did everything that couples did but without the title. Sometimes I sense that she wants the title but she never brings it up so I just leave it alone.

"But you can be here alone with Sabrina, right?"

I rolled my eyes and smacked my lips. "Don't go there. She's not allowed here either and you know that."

She pursed her lips while wrapping her hands around my neck. "You get on my nerves. You know that?"

I smiled and shrugged my shoulders while slipping my hands around her waist. "Yeah. Whatever," I raved with a grin still resting on my face.

She embedded her bottom lip between her teeth while pushing herself up on the balls of her feet and wrapping her arm around my neck, pulling our faces close. My grin down sized into a smirk right before our lips touched. She parted her lips, deepening our passionate kiss but I found myself pulling my lips away from hers. I bit my bottom lip while looking at her.

"Why'd you stop," she asked with a smile.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I-I don't even know, but I'll call you when my mom gets home to let you know that you can come back. You know the rules, baby girl."

She smacked her lips and removed herself from my embrace. "Okay. I'll respect your mother's wishes but make sure that's the real reason you're making me leave and not something else. I don't want you lying to me. It's not like we're dating."

I nodded my head in agreement. "Yeah, you're right, but I'm not lying to you. I promise."

She glanced up at me, letting out a sigh before stepping away from me and grabbing her umbrella, leaving. I let out a breath while walking over to the window to make sure she made it to her car safely.

After she left, I returned to my room and continued with my relaxing session before I was interrupted.

I know the chapters are short but I'm trying to bring in the characters and develop their characters before bringing up the moral and drama of the story.
