Old Friend And News

The loud knock echo's threw the house causing Gavin and Adrian to start shouting. "I want to answer the door!" I hear Adrian shout

"No me!" Gavin yells back.

I laugh "How about , I do?" I say walking to the door with the twins hot on my heels.

When I open the door , I gasp. There standing there is David. My old best friend. His brown hair is messy and his brown almost black eyes are staring at me.

"Rose? Is that you?" He asks

"Yes" I say and giggle "David?"

"Yup! God , it's been so long!" He says still looking at me.

"Mommy? Who is that man?" I hear Gavin say and I turn around.

"Its a friend of mommy's" I say and pick him up , Adrian just shrugs and walks away probably to the living room or play room.

"You have kids already?" David says shocked

"Yeah , twins. Gavin and Adrian. Also I'm engaged. You should come to the wedding"

A smile spreads across his ace "I'd love to!"

"Great! Want to come in?"

He nods and we walk into the living room. Adrian is playing with her dolls on the floor and I set Gavin down as he runs to his trucks. I laugh at them.

We sit on the couch and the only sound in the room is of the twins playing. "So?" David says breaking the semi-silence.

"So? Were have you been all these years? It been what? 7 years?" I ask.

David nods "Yeah , my family had gone on vacation and then we decided to all tour the world together. After 7 years , here I am"

I smile. Then I hear the door open and close. "Daddy!" The twins scream and run to were Jake was now standing.

"Rose? Who's this?" Jake growls

I look at David "Its an old friend" I say.

Jake growls and has a frown on his face "And you are?" David asks Jake

"I'm Jake , Rose's fiancé , and mate. Why are you here?"

"Just catching up. Do you have a problem with that?" David says coldly and stands up

"Kids , go play in your room" I say just incase it gets ugly.

Adrian and Gavin run off. David steps closer to Jake which makes Jake growl warningly.

--Jake's POV--

What does he think he is doing? I know who he is and I don't like it. "Leave!" I bark

"You cant make me do that" He snarls and takes another step closer. I growl louder this time and my wolf is on edge.

"Jake?" I hear Rose say shakily , and softly.

I look over to her. She is standing by the couch , her blue eyes hold an idea of what is going to happen and she doesn't like it.

Then David decides to jump. He goes to jump on me but I'm faster and smarter than he thinks. I grab him and drag him outside and throw him on the ground. "Don't come back!" I bark

He scrambles to his feet and turn around turning into a large grey wolf and runs into the woods. When I turn around I see Rose standing in the door way with her hands on her hip. She isn't happy.

"Jake Matthews! He was just a friend! Was it really necessary to scare him off?!" She screams "I'm so disappointed in you!"

"I'm sorry baby. I was jealous and over protective because we have the kids" I say and her eyes soften.
