Recommended for: Every girl human teenager. If guys are also reading this, kudos to you. I appreciate a guy who wants to know more about the girl human body, and I don't know if you're doing this for your girlfriend, or sister, or wife, or even mother.. I really appreciate it.
Being a teenager is not easy, as we all already know. But this monthly disaster is just too much to handle. Why God? Why? Why, only girls have to push a watermelon sized being out of their.. you know where? Why not guys? Why do girls have to get iron-deficiency?
That is a topic for another day.
Right now, I am here to make your life easier, remember? I am going to list down below the precautions and the must do's and have's.
Hope you enjoys. (with an intentional 's')
It doesn't matter what you saw on YouTube. Cramps do not occur for everyone. I don't have cramps, hardly ever I do. So if you don't have cramps, do not worry. It is completely normal not to. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, please consult a gynaecologist because it may not be that big of a concern, it still disturbs you. Never hesitate.
What Never To Do
Precautions:
*Exercise within limits!
Now you know the things that those fitness freaks do in the mornings? Yeah, those painfully bending down and coming up thingies? Apparently, those are called exercises. Yeah, you and I don't have to worry about that. We rock our belly and thighs and bottom, don't we?
But if you do exercise a lot, please take the following things into notice:
-- It may increase menstrual flow: This is not 100% proven, it's just something I learnt from my experiences. In the rare occasion that I did exercise, I noticed that the menstrual flow increased and I had to change my pads more frequently.
-- If you go swimming, and please listen to me very carefully, wear tampons. If you don't know what tampons are, that's all right. They are these thingies that go inside you and soak the blood.
I believe you will get a better and less disgusting definition on Google. ;)
I tell you an incident I witnessed myself. A friend of mine once had a little accident and forgot to bring tampons, and it was trials day. I had to give her one of my pads, and she was really uncomfortable wearing them because she hadn't ever worn them. Then when she got into the water, it leaked and it was horrifying to watch. She was humiliated, and I cannot let that happen to my dearies now, can I?
I am not saying be paranoid, just be careful. Wear a tampon if you go for swimming, it's always the better option. :)
* Eat Iron and Vitamins!
I know, y'all, I know. Those things your gynaecologist tries to push down your throat everytime you visit her, those are iron and vitamin supplements. Now I know how frustrating and time-consuming it is to swallow a whole pill, so I am not going to ask you to take supplements.
No, seriously, I am not going to tell you to swallow pills like a crazy person. What I am going to tell you instead, might sound even more crazy.
Eat healthy.
Healthy, whaaaat? Taco Bell has.. vegetables in it. Yeah, yeah so does McDonald's. We eat plenty healthy food, we do!
Unfortunately, I think some of the oldies do not agree. My Mum practically screams at me as I write this and I say to you, with a heavy heart...
We don't have a choice;
We have to eat healthy. But eating healthy also comes with its benefits..
Oh who am I kidding?
I think it's better to just end this point here. There, I warned you. Eat irons and vitamins or it may effect you in the long run, as much as you hate eating vegetables now.
We have to guys. We have to.
The advices!
WARNING: As much as I would like to think so, I am NOT an expert, so please please please don't take your phone/tab/laptop and go running to your mother saying that what I listed here is wrong. Your parents and your doctors may not completely like my views and my ways of doing things, but it's just the way I do things. There's nothing I can do about it. So I don't mean to offend anyone, but please do not start pointing out that 'this is a myth' or 'this dumbo knows nothing!'. I know I know nothing, it's not something new. This is my opinions and my views. Please bear with them, and maybe they will help you. :)
On a less serious note, here are the tips and tricks of surviving periods ;)
*Fill your backpack with pads/tampons
"Hey, Naina, do you have a pad?" She asked her lifesaver.
The lifesaver took out a newspaper wrapped pad from the front packet of her bag and handed it to her fellow classmate and smiled kindly, "Here you go."
I know making friends is hard, but nothing could be more easier if you could just carry some extra pads! I know your sick bay must also have pads, but mine cost nearly Rs. 20 per piece, and I simply cannot let that happen. So I always carry a lot of pads in my bag, every bag, and keep throwing them wherever there is a drought. I mean a need.
Having extra pads really does help you become popular and helps you from facing that weird and awkward moment when you have to go and ask someone else for a pad.
STORY TIMEEEEE... (True story based on true events)
ONCE UPON A TIME, after long long 2 hours of studying, the exam was about top begin. I was pretty nervous and I went to the wash-room. There I saw it, that big red dot. I immediately called for my best friend K.G. and she ran up to my classroom to get the pads.
She found nothing.
She came back and told me this. My shock knew no bounds. But I always carry extra, I thought. Then remembered not putting more once they finished the last time. I come out of the stall and look for someone to lend me a pad.
I was 15 minutes late for the exam, missed my reading time, and my stomach was in a twist with my hands sweating profusely. On top of that, when my teacher asked where I was going, I had to tell her.
Facepalm moment.
So don't be that girl. CARRY EXTRA PADS.
I think I made this part tooo long, so the next part may be shorter. Looking for more tips and tricks to hack periods? WEIRD QUESTION FOR THE DAY #2
If you could meet anyone in the world, living or dead, who would you meet and why? It has to be a real person.
Always excited for your reply.
Cheers
Naina.
