I was really in the mood to talk with you guys today. I am seriously not here to give a lecture on how to live life, because you probably know that better than me. I am here to give you an idea of how NOT to live life, hence telling you about mine.

I have been struggling with making friends and then keeping them right from kindergarten up to here. I want to tell you this and I need to listen to me very carefully -- there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. People are just morons, they don't understand you, and they don't get your awesomeness. Please understand this and don't feel sad. I am not a master at making friends and understanding people, but this much, I do know.

I know we have workshops in our schools like 'against bullying' or 'against ragging' in colleges, but these don't work. It's not like anyone actually pays attention and it's neither like the bully suddenly feels guilty and stops bullying. But what you definitely take away from those workshops is some strength, a feeling that you will succeed no matter what, and you can fight those bullies who feel so insecure about themselves they try to push everyone down.

There are two major evils in our societies, which are schools or colleges for us teenagers -- bullying and peer pressure. They both make you do things you would never have dreamt of doing your whole life.

This took a very serious turn. Let's tone it down a notch. I was not here to give a lecture after all.

Okay, who all have seen the DUFF? If you haven't seen it yet..

Do you live under a rock? Please send me the address, I would love to come and show you the greatest of God's creations.

Now, the DUFF is based around a girl who is friends with these two beautiful and perfect girls, who we awkward teenagers describe as 'show-off' and our parents as 'desperate'. Facepalm moment. This guy named Wes, previously Bianca's best friend, tells Bianca that she is the pretty girls' DUFF.

DUFF stands for Designated Ugly Fat Friend.

No one, and I repeat no one, has the right to dictate on which step you stand on on the social ladder. Not Wes, not anyone else. Please remember this.

School is a moron, the school teachers are morons, and so are schoolmates. But think of it like this -- there are only 4 years left! Then you are off to college (I'll meet you there if I am just able. to. decide. a. stream!) and all is left behind. So cherish these days, because I know you would probably want to slap me in the face and throw tomatoes at me for saying this, you will miss these. These are the days that will give you the most happiness in life, looking back at. :)

So don't be afraid to take chances. Take up sports, or.. play an instrument. Or do drama, better yet do dance. Do whatever you heart feels like doing, and never hesitate.

I will tell you a true story. I never play when we have P.E. period. Never ever. I am called out by teachers, pushed to play, but I simply cannot bring myself to. I don't know how to play any of the sports! I can hardly run, I look so weird running. I am insecure, but I have no choice in that matter.

But I do not want my lovelies to turn out like that. So play sports, do dance, drama, music -- Enjoy school life.

That's all for today. I know I jumped from topic to topic and this rant didn't make much sense, so if anybody complains, I will probably take this down. But if you learnt anything at all from this, gained any confidence at all..

Well, mission accomplished.

Cheers

Naina
