CHAPTER 4 HOSPITAL
RANDS POV
We arrived at the hospital to see Nathan talking to the Doctor, And then we see Darick and Black guarding two rooms, And then I see the Command standing back pissed as hell. I went to Darick "Whats wrong with him?" I said pointing to his commander.
"We won't let him near the team tell we know he hasn't betrayed us" I nod "Thats good!" And I walked back over and then Nathan spotted us. "Hey sorry I didn't see you arrive" we stood "Yeah fallow me please" we fallowed him and the docter to a private room "have a seat" we all shared a look and sat.
"What the hell is going on?" Matt ask with irratation in his voice.
"Well We got to the place and Maddie realize it was a trap!" H took a deep breath "Maddie had us retreat back to safety but we got away safty we thought, we all were shot" He looked down at his hands "We split up like Maddie said , she and Ryan went off but Ryan was badly hurt, He had a puture lung and is other lung had fluid in it" Nathan looked up at us helplessly "She fixed him up, she cut him up and repair the the damange and drained the fluid" He look down again "she made blankets out of the jungle to hide him and a bed to move him" HE stood and paced "She did all this in the first week, while hunting for food and dodging the enemy".
"The next week she took the roes from the bed and walked, jog, ran them to safety" He shook his head with wonder and aww "She made to the lift off spot" He laughed "She made it" Then the smile disapeared "she came running at and smiled and then let go of the rope and dropped head first into the ground. And before darkness took her she said "I love you Rand" He looked down at his hands.
"Then wheres Maddie?" I ask with a growl "I mean why are we in here and not her to?" He looked at the doctor and back to Nathan. Nathan spoke before the doctor could "When she dropped we notice how pale she was and then remeber she said everyone was shot" Cindy gasp (Maddie's mom) "Oh god no!" John wrapped his arms around her, saying soothing words we couldn't make out to calm her down. "She was shot in the chest, it very mist her heart but hit a major arterie, she has sprained foot and had a dislocated shoulder from pulling Ryan" Nathan took a deep breath "her other arm was shot too" He shook his head "she was shot in the head with a bullet but it didn't go pass the shell of her head to cause damange." doctor spoke up Now "by alrights Maddie should of been dead two weeks ago and not played hero" He shook his head "we had to put her in a induce coma for her body to heal" the doc said "she kept trying to go rescue her team who she thanks got ambushed at the drop point" then Nathan spoke "she said she had to protect Max and Rand" me and Max shared a look at each other confused.
"Can we see her please?" Cindy ask with a small voice "Yes but then go rent a motel and rest" Nathan said. We all walked in and she looked so peaceful and so still I couldn't take it I left the room. And started crying, I should of protected her better. She was my woman to protect. And I failed her, she deserves better.
FOUR MOUTHS LATER AWAKEN
MADDIES POV
I woke up in a daze and my eyes refusing to open so I moved my arm, only it didn't move, so I try to talk but couldn't talk so i started panick, did they get ma to, dis they cut my arms and legs off, what the hells going on, i feel like my eyes are soled shut. Dear god help me please. then a thought pop into my head is my team sufferen to? Lord help them? then I heard voices "You think she'll wake up soon doc?" There was silence "Yes!, shes showing signs of awareness" what are they talking about, And mom sad stress and sad. "honey if you hear me, your safe, your teams safe!" My teams safe? "your in the hospital, Ryans doing good" God body work, Damnit Maddie force it to work, your mother, sounds broken. So I forced my eyes to open and I felt the wriped but i had no voice so I couldn't sream in pain. but my fingers did twitch. and that got my mothers attention but I heard my dad "She's awake Max, get the doctor" .
There was alot of noice after that and people running around the room and My father yelling to be carefull, then they pulled the tube out and gave me water. "How long I been her?" I croaked out of my unused voice it hurt but I pushed throught it. "Four almost five months" Max said. My heart felt like it stop then start back up. "O-okay when can I leave?" they looked at the doctor "In a month, teo tops" I shook my head no "no I leave tonight at midnight" Everyone frozed "WHAT?" My mother screamed. I gave my father a look and he rushed her out. "Look doc i leave tonight, don't tell anyone not even the nurses, no one understand" He looks at me to Max and back and Nodds his head "Okay" I turned to my brother "go with him to plan my escape and find a safe house for us!" he nods and leaves the room.
MIDNIGHT OUR ESCAPE
"Well we did that good sis" Max said with angrer "Who new you weigh like a house"
"Sorry, i just woke up, my legs don't work let" He nodded "I'm takeing a shower and a nap" He said and he walked towards the shower.
I sat here watching Max sleep and wondering where Matt and Rand was, didn't I mean anything to them, Max said they were on a mission. But I don't know. I try to get up but my legs wouldn't work, so i grabed the two walking sticks and forced it out and then I went to the bathroom and pee and stood and saw my refection in the mirror, and my breath caught in my throat, no wonder rands not here I ugly. I have a scar down my face that goes down my neck. My hairs missing and I'm so thin with pastie white skin. Jesus I really met death in the face. {but you survive} and then I thought {you'll survive the hurt of Rands heartach to}. and went back to bed and slept a while.
I woke to Max yelling with Sarah "I miss you to baby, but she needs me, I know I haven't see you in four months" my breath caught, and I got up slowly and walk to Max and took the phone from him. "he will be home in a few hours Sarah, promise" And hanged up the phone.
"I'm sorry maddie but I can't leave you here alone" i smiled a sad smile "it's okay, Max I'll be fine till you get back, I'm going to go stay with Van anyway, he's picking me up, I talked to him last night" He narrow his eyes at me but nodded "Okay, but you need anything call me" I nodded okay and he lefted.
TWO WEEKS LATER
MAX POV
"Hey call van and check on Maddie" my father said, we all were setting at the dinner table eating moms famouse Meatloaf with mash potatoes, Salad, dinner rools, greenbeans. I can't wait to see whats for desert. I was calling Van and then he picked up "Hello?" I smiled "Hey man, its Max, hows my sister doing?" there was silence "Umm I don't know" I'm confused "She's not there" he sighed "No, she called me two weeks ago saying she needed to stay with me, and wanted to know if it was okay, I said sure and talked a while and then I told her Black moved in, were kinda a couple and she said that she's going to find somewhere else to stay" I was so shock, "So where could she go?" there was silence "She won't, everyones got family or boyfriend, she'll stay bye herself untill shes recovered fully, she won't want to be a burden on anyone". I sigh "Okay you hear anything call me" I say "Will do, same to you" and then the line went dead "how she doing" I looked at him and told him everything and Sarah feeling guilty, started crying. We all went to bed after that.
SEVEN MONTHS LATER
MADDIES POV
I'm working night shift at a Carnival, no one will notice me here, I'v been working here for four mouths, traveling and it's my last night, and then I'm going home, I fully recovered and going home it;s time, I've changed, I got a few tattoos and I look at my scars as art, lol yell jokes on me right!.
I arrived home it was dark and I see Max and Sarah at the pool with Rand kissing some girl. And then matt spots me and says "Well look who here guys" I tired to smile but I couldn't stop stareing at Rand holding that girl that should be me, but I pushed that back and let my face espression remain blank. I walked out buy the pool and sat with my back towards the house on guard and scoping the erea, while everyone watched and I didn't feel safe so I got up picked my chair up and linged it against the house wall and stood there watching every inch of the yard and the people and land on the female again and just watched her and she looked famalier. Think maddie then It clicked and I moved had her buy her throat before anyone could respond. "let go of me Bitch!" max was holding Rand "Maddie let go of her, don't let the jelousey control you!" I growled at that and spoke to the girl "Who shot my team?" her eyes wided and then I said "Senaters daughter hu?" And fear set into her features "My dad order me to" She screamed "He forced me, he held a gun to my little brothers head and forced me" there was silence "Lock her up, I'm taking a shower" I told Max and then I turn to Rand and just shook my head in dissapointment at him.
