+thursday+

the day had been dragging ever since jia woke up that morning. all she could think about was hansol. it was driving her crazy.. she was beginning to lose sleep.

maybe she was overreacting.. and maybe she should try and talk to him, but she couldn't bring herself to because she was so angry.

"earth to jiadaye, hellooo", fingers were being snapped in front of her.

"huh? sorry eunhee my minds somewhere else right now." jia frowned.

"jesus i called you like five times, whats wrong?" her friend eyed her.

"just thinking about hansol again whats new?" she sighed.

"god daye i hate seeing you like this.. just break up with him already." she waved it off.

"i can't just break up with him eun.. we've been together for over a year now... we have history."

"well its not like he took your virginitiy or anything.. its not that serious."
jia sighed at that, eunhee wouldn't understand.

she's different, her longest relationship was two months and she hated it. she doesn't like being tied down. "the game's tonight.. you gonna go?" eun asked.

"nope." jia popped the p. she acted as if she didn't have a care in a world.

"i'll go in your place. i'll watch hansol for you."

"you're not going for me, you're going because yugyeoms going." jia rolled her eyes.

"true but i'll still keep an eye on hansol for you, ill let you know if i spot anything suspicious. if i see something i'll run up on that court and beat his ass" she rested her hand on jia's shoulder reassuringly.

"thaaaaanks." she said unenthusiastically.

"look maybe this is happening for a reason..", eunhee continued, looking off into nothing.

"what reason could that be?" jia asked hopeless.

"i don't know God has his weird ways of working everything out, maybe it's for the best.. you and hansol finally breaking things off.."

jia stood there in silence. what was she going on about?

"but first, stop being a sappy little bitch and keep your head up", eun lifted her chin up, "when one door closes another door opens, right?" jia stared at her without a word. eunhee groaned, "look i know i'm not good at this relationship advice shit..." she sighed and as if on cue eun spotted jungkook, "don't look now, your future boyfriends down the hall. thats my cue to go, byeeeee." she hurriedly walked away.

jia rolled her eyes. what was up with her? was that a joke or was she actually trying to be helpful for once? she shrugged it off. "wait.. future boyfriend?" she whispered to herself.

"hey", jungkook spoke from behind her. jia turned around and met eyes with the smiling boy, "ready to go?"

"mhmm." she lazily walked ahead of him. he eyed her up and down, he knew something was wrong. he tried to get it out of her when he walked her to school that morning but she wouldn't budge. he had a strong feeling this was all hansol's fault and for some reason, he couldn't explain, it made him angry.

they had been walking side by side in silence. as time passed the only thing that was heard was the birds chirping and the cars passing by. he wanted to say something but he didn't know what. he huffed, "jia.."

no response. "jiadaye." he gently grabbed hold of her arm and spun her around so they were facing each other. "are you going to tell me whats wrong? or are we just going to keep walking in silence?"

"nothing's wrong." she stared up at him.

"don't start with that bullshit. you've been like this since yesterday..." silence overtook them. he sighed, "this is because of hansol isn't it? why don't you just-"

"i know i know why don't i just break up with him? why do you even care, hm?" she raised her voice a bit near the end.

"jia... i was going to ask why don't you just talk to him?"

her brows knit together, "what?"

he chuckled, "you should really let me finish next time.."

"i..you-", she sighed, "i'm sorry. i just- i don't know whats going on.. i think he lost interest.. i think after a whole year he's finally bored with me.. or maybe its because-"

jiadaye's words were cut off when she was suddenly pulled into jungkook's embrace. her eyes were wide as jungkook hugged her tightly. he released a sigh, "you sound like you need a hug.."

without even realizing it her eyes began to water, this was the most affection she'd been shown in awhile. it felt good, she slowly wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him equally as tight. she relaxed in his arms. she didn't want him to let go, he rested his head on top of hers. they stood there for a bit before he finally let go of her and smiled, "we should go, its getting cold out."

he began walking and looked back at her, "what?" he asked, eyeing her. she stared at the sidewalk beneath her. there was a small tug on the corners of her lips, "thanks."

"no problem..", he smiled, "but don't expect that shit all the time now, i gotta keep my rep." he joked.

"aaaand theres the jungkook i know. pft, i wouldn't want that all the time anyways." she tried to defend herself.

he eye'd her with a smirk, "you sure?"

"yes i'm sure, i don't wanna catch nasty jeon jungkook germs." she pushed him away with a laugh.

"that's not what you were saying last night."

she tried to suppress her oncoming chuckle but it was no use, "jeon jungkook that's enough."

"what? i was just trying to make you laugh. it worked." he smiled at her.

when they finally reached her house jungkook watched her walk up her front steps, "what time you coming over tomorrow?"

"huh?" she turned around and gave him a look of confusion. he stood there with his hands in his pockets and rolled his eyes, "really jia?"

she quickly remembered the bet they made when they played golf the other day. "oh! yeah uhh six?"

"alright see you tomorrow."

"bye." he waited there until she went inside. once she closed the door, she looked through the peephole and watched as he left. once he left she leaned back against the door and sighed. jungkook made her feel better and not hansol.. who made her feel this way in the first place.
