Part 2 Chapter 5

I wake up in a small room. Where am I? There's an IV in my arm. Great.

Dr. Whale walks into the room, clipboard in hand.

"Good afternoon." he says, seeing I'm awake.

"What happened?" I ask. I have a splitting headache.

"You passed out." He answers, "The new guy, Robin Hood brought you here."

Just like he did so many years ago.

"When can I go home?" I ask.

"I want to run some tests to see why you really passed out but you should be able to tonight." He says and walks out.

Just as he did, Robin walks in.

"Just like I did when we first met." he smiles.

"Yeah." I say.

He sits down next to my bed.

"Are you feeling alright?" he asks.

"Yeah, I guess." I answer, "what happened?" I ask.

"You don't remember?" he asks.

I shake my head.

"Do you remember going to Tink's?" he asks.

"Yes, but I don't remember what for or anything after that."

"Well you came to my place and blacked out."

"I'm sure I'll remember soon." I say.

"You will." he flashes his amazing smile at me.

My stomach fills with thousands of butterflies.

Oh, goodness, I'm falling for him all over again.

We sat quietly for a few minutes.

"You know what I thought when I first heard you died?" Robin says breaking the silence we were sitting in, "I really thought I would die of heartbreak. Now you're here and I don't know what to think."

I hold out my hand for him to take it and he does.

"I don't know what to think either. I didn't leave my bedchamber for days at a time. I wasn't allowed outside of the palace walls ever again, until the king... died. I would've done anything to have you back, but now, Robin, I need some time." I say.

He drops my hand and heads for the door.

"I still love you, you know. I never loved any other woman. Come find me if you decide on what you want to do. " He says and leaves.

The "I still love you" part struck me right in the heart. I love him, but I didn't tell him. He just left the room and I didn't say anything. I feel tears forming in my eyes, and I don't bother to blink them back.

He wants me to let him in. He's waited longer for me than anyone ever should. Maybe I should try to let him in.

Dr. Whale came into my room later that night.

"Ok, Regina, you can go home tomorrow morning-"

"Morning? You said tonight!" I cut him off.

"The tests ran longer than I thought they would. The drugs I gave you are going to make you a bit dizzy. You're going to need to have someone pick you up. Do you have any family?"

"No." I mumble.

"Well, I guess I can call that Robin Hood guy that brought you here-"

"Snow!" I cut him off again, "She's technically my step-daughter. Call Snow."

"Alright." He says and leaves.

I don't know what's wrong with me! I should be excited that Robin is here! I should be excited that he wants to spend time with me! But instead, I'm pushing him away...

The next morning David walks into my room with Dr. Whale.

"Why are you here?" I say harshly.

"Snow had to deal with an issue so I'm taking you home." he plasters a I-really-don't-want-to-see-you smile on his pathetic face.

"I thought you said family!" I turn towards Dr. Whale.

"I'm your step son-in-law. Now, you can let me take you home or you can stay here." He says annoyed. Wow, when did he get so sassy? I'm the only one who's allowed to be sassy.

Well since I'm clearly not going to win this fight I walk out the door and David follows behind.

He opens the passenger seat door for me when we get to his truck. We drive silently on Main Street.

"So..." David says breaking the silence, "I heard Robin Hood took you to the hospital. Why were you with him?"

I didn't answer, I just slouched lower in my seat.

"Aww, does Regina have a love interest?" he teases but I start blushing. I pray that he can't see it.

David slams the brakes in the middle of the street.

"What are you doing?" I yell.

"You do! You love Robin Hood!"

"You sound like a teenage boy. I'm not in love. Not since Daniel."

"Whatever you say." he says continuing on the road.

I need to hide my emotions better. If Prince Charming can see through me, anyone can.

"I changed my mind. Take me to Gold's." I say.

"Why?"

"Because your step mother-in-law asked you to! I say throwing the technical terms around again.

"Alright, no need to go crazy." he answers turning the corner.

We pull over at Gold's shop. I get out of the smelly, old truck but before I close the door, David stops me.

"Regina, you're not fooling anyone. Tell the guy you love him."

I slam the door shut and walk into Gold's shop.
