The silence in the room was enough to hear the guys gulp as I forced a smile onto my face.

It wasn't her fault she brought it up.

"I don't really know," I smiled at her as she gave me a nod back.

"O-oh, that's okay! Then should we get going? We don't want to be late!" She pulled her heels on as everyone got ready to leave.

"You look beautiful," Doug complimented Alex as we walked down the street. "You look pretty too mom," he smiled at me as I gave a smile back.

"Yeah, pretty ugly."

Bursting into laughter, I wiped a few fake tears as Doug only sighed and rolled his eyes at me.

"You're ridiculous."

"Ridiculously gorgeous," I shot back, moving to Nicolas' side as Doug glared at me. "I'll stop," I admitted, walking beside Nicolas, admiring the suit he wore.

He usually wore suits and hoo boy did they look good on him. So good that it'd make me want to actually cry.

"We're here! What a grand night!" Worick cheered as we walked in, greeted by smiles all around us.

"I can't believe that you guys are grouped together so nicely even after all those years!"

We were greeted by big mama as she gave hugs to each of us, pulling back to go greet the others.

Nicolas had an arm around my waist as I smiled up at him. With an eyebrow raised, he looked down at me, grinning before leaning down to kiss my lips gently.

My phone rung, both of us pulling back as I furrowed my brows.

"Corsica," I addressed, my voice tight.

"Danny just called me, you've got to hurry to the building by the lake, Delico is extremely hurt!!"

The panic in his voice had me blink.

"W-wait, are you okay? How is Lorie? I'm coming st-"

"Hurry, there's not much ti-"

"Hello? Hey, Corsi?" I panicked, the call abruptly haven ended and I put my phone away.

'What's wro-'

Cutting Nicolas off with a kiss to his lips, I flashed a quick smile, speaking for him to read my lips.

"Trouble by the lake building, I've got to go help," I squeezed his hand before leaving his side with a longing look.

Making my way through the crowd, I hadn't let Nicolas react, afraid that I would have stayed with him for him to not be worried when I was needed for a friend in danger.

I ran through the alleyway, pushing my foot off against the side of the wall as I came closer to the lake.

Just a few more seconds.

"Del Del?" I called out, standing out in the moonlight as I looked around the area. "Danny? Lorie?" I saw no sign or Daniel or Loretta either, something now setting in as my eyes widened.

Too late.

My keys were snapped off of my neck, the chain falling loose as I let a scream out, falling to my knees instantly.

"Caught you," the little girl gave a snicker and I took a deep breath.

Every time.

After every meeting.

I was surprised the group didn't come after today's meeting to attack me and I now realized how I was set up.

And finally, who was behind every time I was tortured to my ends.
