After the dinner, Bellamy and Clarke were given some time alone to talk to each other. Clarke decided to take Bellamy to the garden, the place that she always went to when she wanted to sort her head out.

As they walked alone the atmosphere became almost awkward. When she's alone with Bellamy, he becomes a lot more distant. But it's to be expected.

The dinner was a success, more of a success than the lunch with Roan. All Roan did was talk to anyone other than her, he was funny though, but Clarke didn't appreciate being treated as if she wasn't there. Bellamy had his eyes on her almost the whole time. His sister introduced herself, Clarke thought she was a beautiful young woman. Very high spirited.

"So. . Give it to me straight, do you want to marry me?" Clarke asked and Bellamy almost choked on air. She was very demanding, he wasn't complaining. He almost found it attractive.

Bellamy sighed. "To be honest, I don't really have a choice, you do, but I'm afraid that if you pick me," he paused. "You're not going to get the kind of love you deserve."

Clarke sighed. "Do you need this?"

"Need what?"

"Do you need me to marry you? Does your kingdom need me to marry you?"

Bellamy cleared his throat. "Yes," he stated simply. "If you don't choose me, my kingdom will slowly fall apart."

Clarke thought for a moment, she seemed to be fighting with herself. "Okay," she said unexpectedly.

"Okay?"

"Okay, I'll marry you. Under one condition." Bellamy looked at her surprised. "we are only in this for the survival of our kingdoms, our people. You need me to save your kingdom and i need you to help me birth the next king of Arcadia. If we do this we are only here to save our people, no feelings, no attachments."

Bellamy nodded. "No attachments."

Clarke looked at him, a small blush reaching her cheeks.

She smiled at him and they made their way back inside, Clarke had to tell her people that she had made a decision. They walked into the hall and there stood Roan and his mother, Nia.

Bellamy stiffened next to Clarke, had Roan naturally become his enemy?

"Clarke, darling, there you are," said Nia as she went to Clarke's side. "Now i assume that you have already made your decision and may i say that i would be absolutely honoured to be your mother in-law--"

"Queen Nia," Clarke said to grasp her attention. "I have made my decision. . And I'm sorry," she said as she looked at Roan. "I just- I can't see myself marrying you, plus, you deserve so much better."

Nia went silent and Roan didn't seem to be phased. When Clarke looked back to Nia she could tell that she was furious.

"I don't believe this, nor do I accept it. You would choose this. . second," she said motioning towards Bellamy, "before you would choose my son, a prince? What is wrong with you?" She said, Nia was trying to intimidate her into choosing Roan over Bellamy.

"My mind is made up."

"So is mine," Nia said as she stepped towards Clarke. Bellamy instinctively stood protectively in front of Clarke, his body mass was twice the size of hers and she stood back because she knew that he would be able to protect her.

"Move out of my way you vermin."

Bellamy practically growled, Clarke could see that his muscles were tensed through his shirt. "Take a few steps back and i will," he looked down to where Nia's hands rested on the handle of her sword. "And keep your weapon where it is."
