She walked the halls of her home as quietly as she could, peeping her head around every corner to see if there was a threat. Luckily she hadn't been seen by anyone yet and she could only hope that it stayed that way. She inspected almost every body that she saw, just in case they were still alive, unfortunately they were gone and there was nothing that she could do for them. All she could do was close their shocked, lifeless eyes as she whispered a thank you and a goodbye.
Seeing her kingdom so hurt and vulnerable made her tear up. They were safe and having fun no more than an hour ago, and now bodies lined the hallways like it was some sort of horror movie, but it wasn't a horror movie, it was war.
Clarke had to keep moving, even though she had no idea where she was going, she just kept going. She was sure that she had passed 20 bodies by now, maybe more, but there were so many more people who lived in the building, where were they?
Maybe they had fled while they could, but there had to be someone left other than her and Bellamy. Before Clarke could notice where she was headed, she ended up just outside of her parents door. There weren't any bodies laying on the floor in sight, so she instantly thought that maybe her parents were okay.
She knocked on the door as quietly as she could, hoping that they were inside.
There was shuffling from behind the blurred glass on the door, and when it finally opened she was greeted with guards that were ready to attack her. She put her hands up in surrender and when they realised that it was her they pulled her inside quickly. The second she saw her father she ran into his arms and he embraced her tightly.
"Oh Clarke," he whispered. "I was so worried that something had happened to you."
Clarke cried into her fathers chest. "What's going on?" she said weakly as she pulled away to look at his face. "There's people out there, just lying there. . . dead."
"I know baby," he said as he kissed her forehead. "I know, and I'm sorry that you had to see that."
Silence filled the room as her eyes wandered around it. "Where's mother?"
The second Bellamy left Clarke alone in the room, he immediately regretted it. When she said that she wanted to go with him, he was tempted to let her, just so that she could be by his side, safe. But if push came to shove and he had to fight against warriors, he knew he wouldn't be able to protect her. So he had to make her stay, for her own safety.
He held his sword tightly as he walked through the halls, a pang of sadness hitting him every time he saw a new body appear. Arkadia didn't deserve this. He may not have been born or raised here, but this was his home now. This was his and Clarke's home, and he wasn't going to let anyone take this place from them, even if it costed him his life. He hadn't realised it, but he had fallen in love with Arkadia. He couldn't even dream of returning to Polis, and some of that may be because of a beautiful blonde woman that he fell asleep next to every night.
