your grey skies

I was wrong about You.
Everyone was wrong about You.
You looked into my eyes and said You loved me.
I knew you meant it,
the stars reflecting in Your dilated pupils told me so.
You even held me close as those three sacred words left Your soft lips.
You held my dry, cracked hands in the frigid, harsh rain and You never let go.
We were two flames,
never to be extinguished.

But three months wasn't long for those flames to vanish, and those three sacred words to mean nothing.
You took me up and spit me out, like You couldn't stand me anymore.
I was a piece of tasteless gum, thrown in the trash carelessly and forgotten with ease.

The music we danced to under the stars was nothing
but scrambled notes that no one could dance to any longer.
The words we exchanged, were nothing but wastes of breath.
The places we spent, the love we shared,
were all washed away by Your grey skies and my bloody tears.

our story is cliché.

thanks for making my broken heart and your selfish one, a horrible piece of poetry,

I love you
