JULIET

I woke up and find myself in a clean beige room- I already know I'm not in my room because my room isn't this clean and for a fact I know, it's colored lavender. I tried sitting up but a white-hot flame of pain started shooting up my back and instantly made me crash back to the bed and grunted. I looked around and saw a blonde mop of hair beside my bed looks like he was sleeping.

I poked his head to check who he was. He stirred in his sleep and sat up rubbing his eyes.

OKAY, WHAT THE HECK IS LUKE RIVERS DOING HERE? I thought to myself.

Then everything came crashing down. I remember Chris choking me, him offering to drive me home, him almost getting run over by a car and me saving this idiot.

"Thank God you're awake," He says and runs his fingers through his hair and presses a button beside my bed.

"Why are you here?" I asked him

"I had to watch over you, of course, you saved me after all." He muttered not looking into my eyes. "Thank you," he said softly

I didn't bother answering, after a few minutes a doctor came rolling in. She placed her golden hair in a neat bun and square frame glasses perched upon her nose.

"Good Morning, I'm Dr. Rivers, I will be taking care of you," She said and smiled at me.

I looked at her closely because something about her was familiar.

"Rivers?" I asked her with a scrunched eyebrow.

"Yes, I'm this dummy's mother- unfortunately," She said and rolled her eyes that earned a soft chuckle from me.

"Thank you for saving him, he's the only one I have left sweetie. Let us take care of you okay? You don't have to worry about anything, just recover" She said and smiled softly at me.

Wow, I hope his son was as kind as she was. But we all know he's far from that. Sure he's decent but not that kind. He was associated with that asshole after all.

"Well, you've been out for three days." She said

My eyes almost bulged out of my sockets.

'THREE FUCKING DAYS?!" I said almost sitting up but was stopped because again, my back hurt.

"Yes, three days. The hit was quite hard it almost hit your spinal cord. Thank God, it didn't but it mostly made a bit of damage to your back to the sides- your left ribcage in particular. You may find it hard to breathe from time to time because it's still swelling there. So we have to keep you here almost three months, two at the very least. We need to enroll you in some muscle therapy once we see a few developments" She finished in one huff.

My tiny human brain can't handle this.

"Does my mom know this?" I asked her

"Yes, she visited yesterday. She had work today so I asked my son to take care of you. It's his fault anyway" She said and rolled her eyes yet again- I like this woman!

"And besides, it's the least that we can do for you." She said and smiled at me as she scribbled something on her papers.

"Oh, before I head out." She said and raised her head to look at her son "Bring her all of your homework from school and you will watch her on Thursdays through Sundays am I clear?" She said and raised a stern eyebrow to her son.
