The World Destroyed

When all the world
was bright and new
the rivers ran
and flowers grew.

The air was clear,
the sun shone bright,
and you could see
the stars at night.

Then with a crash
and with a roar
the world was
different than before.

With pavement roads
and speeding cars
and lights that could
drown out the stars.

Where life once was
there now resides
a race of greed,
despair, and pride.
