As I was getting ready for meeting Nick, I heard my mom enter the house.
After she noticed me, she said, "Your dad and I decided to stay at Jorvik. Liam contacted us and I think it's great that you're taking part in the project." She then noticed I was dressed nicer than usual. "Wow. You look nice. Where are you heading?"
"Nick, apparently the son of the owners of Jorvik, asked me out to the disco tonight," I responded.
"Wow. That's ... good," Mom said faking a smile.
"What's wrong," I asked noticing she wasn't very happy with the news.
"Nothing, ... nothing. You just go have fun, okay," she said.
I rode to the disco and noticed Bianca and Liam on the dance floor. I must say I wasn't surprised to see them there."There you are." I heard Nick from behind. Before I could turn around, he came up to me and put his arm around my waist. He then walked me to a table at the cafe.
"Please, have a seat," he said. "What would you like to have?"
"I'll just have a coke," I said.
After our drinks were finished, Nick grabbed my hand and took me to the dance floor. Most people were dancing alone due to the songs playing. However, Nick pulled me closer to him. Liam and Bianca were still dancing, but they were dancing on the other side of the dance floor.
"Are you a good dancer," Nick asked me.
"I wouldn't consider myself a great dancer. That's all I'm saying."
Liam and I made eye contact several times during the dance. Nick finally decided we danced enough for the night. Only seven remained on the dance floor when we left.
"How about we go up to the balcony," he asked me.
"I think it's getting pretty late. I should go now. It was a fun night," I said smiling.
I turned around and before I could leave, Nick grabbed my waist and turned me back towards him. He leaned me towards him and kissed me. At the moment, I didn't know what to do. I pushed him back after three seconds.
"I'm sorry," Nick apologized.
"I have to go to," I said quickly. I fast-walked to my horse and got out of there as soon as possible. He wasn't my first kiss but I still felt strange about it.
The next day, after my class, I met with Abigail and Kendall at Valedale Lake.
"He kissed you," Kendall said surprised after I had told them what happened yesterday. I nodded.
"I'm not surprised," Abigail said. "Nick is a total player. Even his parents aren't proud of him. The only reason the project was put in his hands was because his parents want him to be more responsible."
"Are you still going to see him," Kendall asked.
"I don't know," I said.
"Look, I wouldn't think it too much," said Abigail. "Nick is ..., he is ..., not a good, smart guy. If I were you, I wouldn't see him again."
"Abby, we still have to work with each other with the Jorvik project," I said.
"That's true," she said. "Well, then if he asks you out again, just say no or say that you have plans. Now, I have to meet someone at Jorvik Stables and I'm late. You guys wanna come?"
"Sure," I said.
"I can't. Work has to be done at the stables," Kendall said.
