we are lingering looks we are looking at her like she's the goddamn aurora borealis we are looking at me like i'm worth looking at we are looking at each other the way girls aren't supposed to look at girls we are evolving at speeds like drag racing we are rolling feelings like avalanches we are fear of losing this we are her legs wrapped around mine we are occasional smiles we are stealing sugar packets for her just cause she looked at me with those big brown eyes we are holding hands beneath her jacket we are feet tangled beneath the table we are i just wanna feel you but i can't say it we are there are no words for this we are this defies the human language we are church says this is a sin we are mama spitting the word homosexual like she's sucking out snake venom we are sleepovers where she curls up against me we are she's so goddamn beautiful we are how can this be snake venom explain it to me daddy we are unable to meet his eye when billy asks if we're lesbos we are why can't i just be fucking normal we are what does that even mean we are the way she looks in the morning with dew kissed skin and sleep lines we are i don't want to give this up not for the whole fucking world we are this hurts like hell we are fucking scared.
we are completely and irrevocably in love.
