I literally have no idea what I just wrote...
So... enjoy?"Ey, Emily!" The young girl turned around, eventually gazing at the familiar boy. Gary, who was one her friends, ran to her while his breathing was unsteady. His brown hair moving in the wind as his undercut was showing.
"I wanted to ask you..." He breathed out after a quiet pause, laying his hand on her shoulder. "do you want to join us today?" Her light blue eyes sparkled in response, not believing his words.
They were standing on the street, a few blocks away from school. Emily nodded at him with excitement, also letting him know through her rising heartbeat.
They were both werewolves and not the only one in the little town they are living in. As being far blood related to each other, they also saw one another almost every day. Their dads both leading a pack with an agreement between the two bloodlines.
What Gary had asked the girl was not just something. It was an opportunity to show her strength and that she wasn't the reckless wolf from a few years ago. Her tail between her legs and begging for mercy after the mission. Of course, she still has to show respect to the higher ranks.
Werewolf packs mostly get money out of jobs, jobs which has to be done by someone strong. Someone who isn't afraid to kill. Those assignments can bring up 100 dollars... sometimes even thousands.
Most of the time it's too easy for an adult to get the job done. So, the young but almost independent wolves go into groups, it didn't matter if the young wolves were from both pack. As long as there remained peace among each other, they would still gain trust by the elders of their pack. It's also a way to show who is worthy enough to be an Alfa in the upcoming generation.
Emily is currently seventeen and has a thing to get into trouble easily. Even if she is known for her well thought out strategies, her own doubt holds her back the most.
"But..." She mumbled as her eyes were on the pure brown ones from Gary. "I only hold you guys back, so you can go without me." With a soft chuckle she turned around, letting the hand of the boy slide off her shoulder.
Expect when she started to walk away, a firm grip was pressing around her wrist. "I'm not joking." They both stood still in the middle of the street, people passing the two school students without knowing their inhuman life.
Emily turned around but before she could reply, the rest of the group was catching up with Gary. "Please?" He exclaimed in a whisper, really wanting her to go with him. "Come on Gary! We have to go now or the job is canceled."
The group, which is going to accept the job, existed out of seven other wolves. Normally it was a group or four maybe five... but never nine in total. With her eyes on the group she thought about how big the chance was to kill someone...
Eventually she gave in, accepting the offer. After agreeing to join for the job, Emily followed the group to the destination; a city only one running hour away. The job was easy, in Gary's words, they just had to get something back. It was guarded pretty well and no innocent humans were involved. Easy.
"Gary... this isn't like you told me." The group was on the edge of the forest, their eyes on the building, where the job has to be finished. The building with twenty million dollar, with innocent human lives and the most important thing of all... it was a bank.
"This isn't a job. Our fathers would never allow us to do such thing. Those humans don't deserve being robbed!" Her emotions were going wild, saying everything with confidence. "They... they-" "They killed both our mothers."
Nobody talked for a while, only eyes glaring at each other in anger. "Not these humans." Emily eventually implied. "How do you know?" Gary responded, the whole group agreeing with him. "Well, how do you know that they killed our mothers?!" Her sharp teeth were showing, even if any human could see them right now.
"Humans are humans and we have to survive." That was the last thing before everyone entered the territory of the most populated specie. She looked at their backs, seeing them walk away, cracking their necks before changing their faces into unrecognizable, indescribable and unbelievable appearances.
'They don't have a plan and they will get caught. Their lives will end quickly or they will live as subject, subjects to science.' Her mind was already calculation every possibility and their chance to get away. It was a small chance and only she could make it into hundred percent of success.
Her body already entered the streets, exposing herself to the outside world. Yes, she got into trouble easily, mostly because she couldn't just stand there and watch everything go into devastation. She was the one who could save everyone, save her family.
As soon as she entered the building, her voice got recognized by the group, hearing her growl and snarl at the humans. Fear is what make humans obey. Their muscles will freeze and their hearts will rise at its maximum. "Listen up everyone! Don't move or we will make sure you never move again!"
It happened all very quick, her face was already changed. Reflection of her ember eyes on the people who laid down on the floor. Four of the wolves were keeping the everything in control, almost everything.
Maybe it was her wolf side, which runs in the family. Maybe because of her father's way of upbringing... who will ever know what changes the young girl into a killing machine? What changes the hearts and souls of any wolf in general?
"One minute!" She snarled again, knowing Gary and the other two were getting main reason of this job. It was no job assigned to us, it was one we gave ourselves. Some people started to move, others started to talking, but mostly fear was noticeable by their smell.
"Now!" They still had thirty seconds left before their last chance of a 'normal' werewolf life. Gary and the other wolves were running to the front, holding on to a few bags of money. Emily waited until each of the wolves were outside, still having her eyes on the humans.
Except before she could get out of the building, her body slowed down, feeling heaving in her chest. As Gary and the group were at the edge of the forest, he turned around to check if Emily was behind them. Yes, she was behind them, but maybe too far away at this point.
She changed back her face, feeling warm liquid drip on the ground. The sound of sirens were close by... Even if she saved her family, she realized she was still too reckless. The bullet wouldn't kill her, she already thought of that option, but it would make it impossible to escape with the whole group.
The smell of gunpowder filled her nose, leaving her eyes from the group to meet those of the police officers. Not a single word reached her brains, just seeing the world in silence. A big smile was being exposed on her face, almost laughing at her own mistake.
Was it worth the sacrifice? Would she still regain trust? Even if she offered herself for others. Were those wolves worth the chance? To give them their chance to live? Maybe she will never know what changed her thoughts in the end.
What changes the hearts and souls of any living being in general? Does it matter in the end?
