Love over Fame? (Chapter 6)

I felt weak. I felt tubes all around me. A nice cool breeze hit my leg. I shivered. My eyes opened slowly, everything was fog. "Where am I?" i whispered. I then saw a woman i never saw before come up to me, "You're at the hospital Jasmine. You fell unconscious when part of the house fell on you...". I was confused, "Wait...what?" i said sitting up on the bed. I then realized I had something wrapped around my arm. "Is this a cast?" i asked surprisingly. The nurse told me how i broke my arm, i guess it was when i let go of Andy and ran down the stairs putting my arm and hand on the railing, during the earthquake. I suddenly awoke to reality, "Where's my mom?" i kind of panicked. My mom then walked in, she had tears in her eyes. The nurse left.

"Mom are you alright!?" i shouted. "Yes, I'm fine. It's you I was worried about!" I thought that she was completely overreacting about the whole thing, until i saw my face in the mirror. I had scratches all over, minor ones on my chest, neck, and face. But then there was a huge one on my forehead. I touched it softly, "ouch" i flinched. 

"Mom how long do i have to stay here for?" i asked desperatley. "I don't know honey, our house is destroyed" replied. That last word kind of got to me, "destroyed" meant we can never live there anymore. 

The hospital was packed with people, i guess because of the injuries and half of them didn't have a place to go after their house was torn down. Apparently it was an 7.2 earthquake which is pretty darn bad.

I got a phone call, i reached over to my cellphone, thank god i had my cellphone, it was Alexis.

Alexis: "Jasmine! Are you alright!?" she screamed through the telephone line.

Me: "yeah, I'm okay, just a broken arm and a few scratches. Where are you!?"

Alexis: "At my aunt's house."

We lived in San Diego. Alexis's aunt lived in Los Angeles. Apparently the earthquake didn't hit Los Angeles as bad, and her aunt's house didn't tear down like ours did. The nurse interrupted me and told me to shut the phone off. I did as she wanted. She then smoothly inserted a needle into my left arm. I flinched.  She helped me get up. I stood on the cold shiny tiled hospital floor. I walked into the bathroom and changed my clothes. 

On our way out, i saw people in the hallways crying. Outside it was even worse. People were sitting on the sidewalks with their children crying, i felt pretty bad. Then i saw my mom's jeep and Andy's head sticking out of the window. I kissed his forehead, "hey boy" i pet him. We got into the car and my mom started the engine. I looked at her, "Where are we going now?" Right then her phone rang.  It was Alexis's mom she told us to drive up to Los Angeles to her sister's house. "I guess we're going to Los Angeles.." my mom said. We drove up to L.A. I hardly ever visited L.A at all, the last time i came here was when i went to the Jonas Brothers concert, and that was 2 years ago. 

 We arrived at Alexis's aunt's driveway. Alexis was in the backyard playing with her little 5 year-old cousin Zach, he was so cute. I opened the car door with my left hand. It felt so weird not being able to use your right hand as well, considering that I'm right-handed. Alexis ran up to me, "hey! Oh my god i was so worried!" she screamed as we hugged. "Eh, it's just a broken arm." Zach ran up to my leg and hugged me. I picked him up and leaned him on my left side, "Hey baby, how are you!?" i asked. He giggled then looked down, "You have blue thing on your arm?" We walked to the backyard while our moms and Alexis's aunts drank coffee and gossiped. Alexis and I sat on the tire swing while Zach ran around playing with the football. "So have you heard from Zayn?' she asked. "Not really" i sighed. "Have you heard from Harry" i winked at her. "Actually, he sent me a gift through the mail. I got it this morning." she replied. My eyes widened, "what did he get you OMG OMG OMG!?" She laughed, "well he got me a teddy bear, and on the teddy bear's shirt it read, "Alexis + Harry= Forever & Ever." "aw that's adorable!" I was so happy for Harry and Alexis, they were so cute together. Every time they spoke on the phone, i'd hear them laughing and Harry saying, "i love you so much don't you forget that" it was absolutely meant to be. "Oh and Harry told me that they're concert in North Carolina and New Mexico got canceled so they're coming to Los Angeles sooner, but he didn't want to tell me the date, he said it was a surprise." "What!? They're coming? Dang it Harry why do you have to let it be a surprise!?" i screamed. I wanted to see Zayn incredibly bad. We walked inside to the house, it was getting kind of dark and Zach was getting tired. We ate dinner, and watched Nemo with Zach until he fell asleep. Then we walked downstairs to an extra room Alexis's aunt had. We sat on the floor and talked and painted our nails. Alexis painted my nails because of my huge blue bulging cast. We were laughing at a show on the tv, when i saw my phone light up in the corner of my eye. I reached over to my phone with my right arm, and squinted my eyes, there was very few light in the room too. "Oh my gosh, it's Zayn!" i screamed. Alexis turned the TV's volume down and put the nail polish down, leavin 2/5 of my nails done. I picked it up.
