"Sans!!" Papyrus called to his brother from downstairs. "Dinner is ready!" As usual, no response. "Sans, don't make me come up there and drag you downstairs again!" "I'm coming, bro, I'm coming," he heard Sans call back. Papyrus smiled and sat down on the couch. Their house was too small for a dining room, so they usually just ate on the couch and watched a movie instead.
Sans came down the stairs, looking cheerful as ever. "Dinner smells great, Pap!" he laughed before going into the kitchen to get his plate, then sitting down on the sofa next to his brother. Papyrus turned on a movie, and when they got to a cheesy part, Sans said "If I had a penne every time I heard that." "SANS!!!" Papyrus shouted. Sans laughed. "I should think about spaghetti-ing out of here," he followed up. Papyrus facepalmed.
"OH MY GOD, SANS, WHY!!!!" Sans covered his mouth, muffling his laughter. "Because I'm not alfredo showing my humerus personality," he snickered. "OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, 2 IN 1!!! I WALKED RIGHT INTO THAT!!!" Papyrus shouted. Sans fell off the couch laughing, luckily having put his plate in the sink a few minutes ago.
When he got up, he looked at his brother curiously. "You've been eating more than usual, Paps, then every once in a while you stop entirely. You went all of last week barely eating anything, and this week you're eating like a rabid wolf. Is there something I should know about?" He looked concerned. Papyrus got nervous. "M-my appetite has just b-been wavering lately. I'm fine, brother, trust me." Sans gave a suspicious look.
"You aren't fooling me, Papyrus. You're great at everything, bro, but lying is not your strong suit. Tell me, are you feeling alright?" Papyrus knew there was no getting out of this one, so he turned he movie back on and smiled nervously. "Oh well look at that, it's just getting to the good part," he stammered. Sans sighed, chuckled, and gave his younger brother a hug before sitting back on the couch.
"Papyrus, I won't pry, but if something is wrong, you can tell me anything." he said. Papyrus smiled at him. "I know, Sans, and I appreciate that." Another secret well-kept, he thought. I'm sorry for keeping something so important from you, Sans, I really am, but I'm not sure how you would handle it. I don't want to freak you out.
Papyrus felt bad for keeping his secret from his brother. It was troubling them both, Papyrus insecure and Sans worried for his brother's overall wellness. But it was a huge secret that Papyrus thought would make his brother fear him. He didn't want anything to change about how close they were. He loved them spending time with each other like brothers like they had as kids, instead of constantly arguing over Sans' sock or something.
One movie and three plates of spaghetti later, Papyrus put his plate in the sink and washed the dishes, as it was his night to do the dishes. He and Sans alternated between chores. They did the dishes every day, the vacuuming every week, and cleaned their rooms about once a month. Sans, of course, didn't usually do a good job at that last one, seeing as he refused to even pick up his sock. But he surprisingly did very well with the dishes and the vacuuming. He said it was "the least he could do around here".
After he finished the few dishes he had for the night, Papyrus went upstairs to go on the internet, which he had been doing less often lately but still enjoyed. He had gained a few followers on UnderNet recently, all of his friends and lots of monsters from across the Underground. He checked the homepage to see what everyone was up to.
Alphys: Haha, almost time for bed. Instant noodles for dinner again, third night in a row. I have no regrets.
StrongFish91: Did some hardcore training with @CoolSkeleton95 this morning, tired me right out. Gonna have some tea to calm me down, then go to sleep. Night, everyone.
