Tangled Up in Blue

Klaus walked through the French Quarter.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "My brothers and I are the first vampires in all of history."

Elijah looked at Sophie.

Rebekah stepped closer to Elijah.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "The Originals."

A ship emerged out of the fog on the Mississippi River.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "300 years ago, we helped build New Orleans."

People crowded the streets of New Orleans.

Marcel, Klaus and Marcel's vampires walked towards the street corner of Royal and St. Ann.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "Now, we've returned to find a city at war."

Marcel swung a branch towards Jane-Anne Deveraux so fast, it slit her throat open.

Vampires jumped down into the street from balconies and rooftops.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "The vampire Marcel leads an army against a coven of desperate witches."

Marcel looked at Klaus, smiling.

Elijah walked into the mausoleum to meet with Sophie and the witches.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "My brother KLaus is playing against both sides, hungry for power."

Klaus and Marcel stood on a balcony.

In the mausoleum, Klaus and Nina looked at each other. The baby's heartbeat could be heard.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "And hoping to protect the werewolf carrying his child."

In the attic of St. Anne's Church, Rebekah opened a coffin, finding Elijah daggered and desiccated.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "But Marcel has an advantage. He holds our brother Elijah captive with the aid of a secret weapon."

Rebekah looked at Davina, who magically threw her against the wall before sending her flying out the window.

Klaus came downstairs.

Rebekah: (voiceover) "Now, in order to get back the brother I love, I have no choice but to side with the one I cannot trust."

Rebekah walked towards Klaus.

Nina was sitting on the floor in Elijah's study, reading one of his journals.

Elijah: (voiceover) "August, 1359. I have noticed a difference in my siblings. Our bond strains beneath the pressure of our life as vampires. Each day removes them further from the humanity we once possessed. My sweet sister Rebekah has grown quite indifferent to brutality."

Flashback

Rebekah rushed behind Vampire 2 and snapped his neck, then she shoved her hand into Vampire 3's back and ripped his heart out.

Now

Elijah: (voiceover) "However, the true problem remains, my brother Niklaus."

Nina looked up.

Flashback

Klaus was dowsing the pile of vampires in gasoline.
