July the 29th, 2010. Perhaps the reason nobody turned up to my 16th birthday party was due to the fact that I was an 'un classified popular kid'. This technically meant that I wasn't a 'popular kid' at all. My parents were surprised when it reached 9 'o' clock, 2 hours after my party started, and not a single person had turned up. I however, wasn't surprised. My dad had set up a large gazebo in the back garden and arranged cups of fizzy beverages on tables outside along with the cheapest finger food going at the supermarket. My mother spent all day tidying the garden and front room for me and my 'friends'. When 9 'o' clock came, an not a single person rang the doorbell or knocked at our door, I'm pretty sure my parents suddenly realised that these 'friends' I had were just in fact a fragment of their imagination, and that the reason I never left the house was because I had no one to leave for. This was partly the reason I was so good at keeping secrets, mainly because I had nobody's secrets to keep, but also because I liked to think of myself as a very loyal person. This was why the events that occurred the night in the cave was a story only kept between Josh and myself.

At 11 'o' clock the next morning a loud scream could be heard from all dorms across the northern side of campus. Soon enough a large crowd of students had gathered around the battered graphitised BMW. Chloe (whom I had not actually met yet) had illustrated some highly embarrassing and inappropriate images onto the silver paint. And the gloss was smeared all over, still slowly dripping down the windows. The tyres were sagging at the bottom due to large visible punctures. I looked around the circle of amused young adults and spotted Chloe, Mitch and Liam sniggering to themselves; although however hard I looked I could not see Evelyn. Josh stumbled behind me, laughing in a burst of excitement.

"Brilliant job they did aye?" he exclaimed.

"Mmm..." I mumbled in reply. "Seen Evelyn around?"

I followed his gaze up to a dorm window on the 3rd floor and saw an excited blonde girl dancing and laughing at the distraught 'Monday Maths Club' surrounding their destroyed vehicle.

"Oh no!" Jonah exclaimed. "This is bad, very bad."

"Why?" I replied.

"Look over there, ya see the redhead?"

"Stood with the 'Monday Maths Club'?"

"Yep, that's her." He confirmed. "Evelyn an' herself had an argument last month, they have a constant burning hatred towards each other 'n' dear God, she's the captain of that stupid ass club!!" He realised.

"What's her name?" I asked.

Suddenly Evelyn pushed through the crowd of students and stood in front of the car. "Heidi! Long time no fight!"

"There ya go, Heidi Green." Jonah whispered. He then continued to swear profusely under his breath.

Heidi stormed towards Evelyn. "COME HERE YOU LITTLE-"

"Oh jeez, save me the pathetic insults." she retorted.

"Where, were you last night huh? I didn't see you at Logan's party. Oh, were you not invited? Or were you too busy doing THSI?!?! She seethed, gesturing to the trashed vehicle.

"Actually, I didn't come to your little gathering because I have, a life." She lied. "I can get into clubs unlike you. I mean you can barely prove your age to buy an age 15 film right?"

"Careful Heidi..." Another one of the clubs members piped up. "She might kill us, like she killed her mother" he faked being scared.

"Oh yeah, it is your fault isn't it?" Heidi taunted.

"It wasn't her fault!" I shouted, shifting forward to stand with Evelyn.

"No Charlie, don't!" She whispered before she turned and walked away, her pace increased and soon she was running. I began to chase after her but Jonah stopped me. He told me that she probably wanted to be alone for a while and if she didn't turn up for dinner we should go visit her later that night.

Later that night, after I had predicted correctly and Evelyn hadn't turned up to dinner, we made our way to her dorm to check her well being.

"£20 she doesn't answer?" Jonah asked.

"I don't bet." I answered.

"You do now."

We knocked 3 times and called her name several times, and sure enough, she didn't answer. I looked through the keyhole before speaking.

"Uh, I don't think she's in there, there's a note on the table though."

"Oh I forgot." Jonah stated. "I have a spare key." He pulled out a small key and unlocked the door.

I immediately headed to the bathroom and checked the rest of the dorm, and there was no Evelyn to be seen.

"Uh, Ch- char- Charlie..." Jonah stuttered. He handed me the note I had previously seen through the key hole with shaking hands and I started to read.

'I'm sorry...' it started.
