"You didn't know?!?!" Evelyn exclaimed loudly, a surprised look painted her face. "But it's so obvious!"

I looked at Jonah shaking my head. "How is it obvious? I still can't tell and I know!"

"Charlie, there's a few things you should know about our little friend Jonah here-"

"Oh here we go..." He sighed.

"Look closely Charlie. He gets his eye brows tinted every week. Did you not look in his wardrobe? Colour co-ordinated, from black to white! He wears his jeans dangerously low down his legs, exposing those oh so flattering bright green boxers. He stinks of Britney Spears perfume, not to mention the over whelming amount of fake tan all over him!" Evelyn continued.

"Kay, kay. That's enough, lets play nicely!" Jonah said waving his hands in her face.

We were sat in a little cafe on campus. It was 6 'o' clock and I was shattered. Last night after we'd played some music I continued to un pack. I defiantly packed way too much for the amount of storage supplied. Our first class started at 8 and I wasn't exactly motivated.

"They're bringing out the crumpets; I'm off!" Jonah exclaimed, raising from his seat and dashing towards the counter at the top of the hall, grabbing a tray and pushing his way through many other students.

"So, Charlie. What's your deal?" she asked, placing her fists underneath her chin to support her head, which was tilted slightly, her bright green eyes piercing mine.

"Huh?" I started, my mouth full of bran flakes. "What do you mean?" I asked finishing my food.

"What's your deal?" Evelyn repeated, her eyes squinting as if she was reading me like a book. "Come on Charlie, you must have a story, everyone, has a story."

"What's yours?" I asked, curious to find out more about the beautiful girl before me.

"Well, my mother died in a car accident when I was 7. My father went crazy after that, so he joined the army. Since then I lived with my grandma. She only lives 5 minutes away but, there's only so many of her cookies I can eat. She always uses salt instead of sugar." She said pulling a discussed face and laughing. "I'm studying Advanced English Literature, and everyone thinks I'm sweet, but, they don't know what we get up to." She continued, gesturing towards herself and Jonah.

"What do you 'get up to'?"

She leaned in close and talked to my ear "Sometimes we sneak out. After curfew. We go out into the woods to a little area inside a big tree we made. There are some candles there but we take torches, you know, just in case. And we drink. Quite a bit. And we talk. Quite a bit. And we smoke. Quite, a lot." She whispered.

She smelled like vanilla, and smoke. But it wasn't a bad smell, it was quite pleasant. Her hair smelt like coconut, probably because she used the same shampoo as Jonah.

"So then..." She started, interrupting my thoughts. "What about you?"

"And the king of the crumpets has arrived!" Jonah exclaimed with delight, returning back to our table and sitting down opposite me and next to Evelyn.

"Crumpets good?" I asked, avoiding Evelyn's pressing question. I could see her out of the corner of my eyes, burning a hole through me with her glare.

"Great!" He replied. "They had chocolate ones today but I'm watching my figure."

"But your eating-"

"He's joking." She stated before standing up and leaving the canteen.

"Where's she off?"

"Beats me!" He exclaimed with a shrug "Probably to take a shower."

I nodded and continued at my cereals. When the clock struck 7:50 we set off to Advanced English Literature. We got to our lecture and sat at the back, in the seats that Jonah claimed to be 'The Best'. There was no sign of the pretty girl with dirty blond hair. As more students filed through the doors and into the seats, I kept my eyes peeled for Evelyn. I gave up with no luck when our teacher, Mr Harrington entered and started the lecture.

"I wonder where she is." I spoke my thoughts.

"Perhaps she fell in the shower, she might have passed out!!" Jonah replied to my rhetorical question. I looked at him horror, my eyes widened like golf balls. "I'm joking!" He protested holding his hands up in surrender.

At that very moment, she walked in her blond hair in a wet fishtail plait and her navy blouse hanging over her black leggings. Everyone in the room stared at her.

"Where have you been?" The middle aged man at the front questioned her.

"I'm so sorry, I got lost!" She answered in despair.

She shuffled down our row and sat down next to me.

"Nice acting." Jonah said in a hushed whisper.

"Thanks!"

"So she didn't pass out!" I thought aloud again.

"What?" Evelyn asked furrowing her eyebrows in confusion and turning to face me.

"You should really stop doing that." Josh laughed. "Where did ya get to Ev?"

She finished fishing her books and pens out of her bag. "Mitch needed some help. He said it would only take half an hour, but it took an hour instead, idiot!!"

Jonah scoffed and shook his head. "An' what exactly do ya mean by 'help'? A little favour I presume for when he bailed ya outta jail last summer?" He winked.

"Oh shut up, you make it sound like I did something bad, it was only murder!"

My eyes widened as I looked at her in complete shock. She laughed quietly as not to let our lecturer know we were not paying attention. "Charlie dear, don't worry I was drunk and I got found out!"

"Ha, so it was a favour?" He exclaimed quietly.

"No! Gosh!! I have at least a little bit if respect for myself." she protested.

After an hour of listening to the grey haired man, I was seriously drained.

"Comin' to the den?" Jonah asked.

I remembered what Evelyn told me earlier about their little hideout, with the alcohol and the candles, the tree trunk and the occasional torches. And then I also remembered what my dad had said before I left. "Remember no drugs, alcohol or smoking. Okay?" I decided to dismiss what my dad had said, because I could really have done with some friends.

"Sure!" I replied, following Jonah and Evelyn down a large hill, through a small field covered in grass that reached our hips, through some trees and into a woodland area. We finally reached a large tree, from a distance the entrance was invisable, but as we neared I could clearly see a large gap in the bark we could easily fit through.

'Oh dear...' I thought. 'What have I got myself into?'
