Chapter 16

Rach's POV

"Liam, I think we need to talk about what happened this morning. You know, about my blackout." He looked at me waiting for me to ask or comment on it.

"Uhm well usually they last up to about half an hour but this time I was only in it for about ten minutes." I took a deep breath. "That's never happened to me before. I mean it's never ended so quickly and... and I just want to know what you did to snap me out of it so quickly" he looked like he understood where I was coming from.

"Uh well after you restrained me and said something about not liking being restrained I said I was sorry. And I don't think you heard it the first time so I had to repeat it" he looked like he was telling the truth.

"Really? Wow that musta been a great sorry cuz usually talkin' makes it worse"

The car was silent for a few moments before he broke it.

"May I ask you a question?"

"Ya just did" I smiled at him

"Well then, can I ask you another question besides this question?" he grins catching on to the slight game I was playing

"Sure"

"Were you and Niall dating?" his face dropped the smile and was dead serious.

"Well in order to be dating we would have had to have previous dates so no I don't think we were dating considering we all just met each other today. why do you ask?"

"No reason." he brushed off my question but I saw something on his face that said something otherwise.

"Get out of my car" I said in a serious tone.

"Pardon" he was taken by surprise by my comment.

"You heard me. If you can't tell me the truth in my own car then get out"

"You are truly something else aren't you" he raised an eyebrow to challenge me "so if I tell you the truth can I stay in your car?"

"Yes" I said with a smugness written on my face

"I asked because he kept saying that you were cheating on him" he was holding something back so I pointed to the door

"The whole truth or out"

He looked so nervous but actually was contemplating getting out.

"Fine, I also asked because..." mumbling off the end.

"I'm sorry?"leaning in closer to hear him.

"I like you." He looked away. my guess to not see if I would shut him down.

I was speechless. I was still processing it and had no clue how to handle the situation. It got so quiet I could hear my own pulse. I think he was holding his breath. I can't think straight. I can't have him sit there in anticipation though, I know if it were me then it would be killing me to get some sort of an answer. He slumped in defeat thinking I didn't feel the same way. I better say something quick before I give him the wrong impression.

"I-I " he cut me off

"It's ok I understand you don't feel the same way just forget I said anything"

"I was going to say that I like you too"

"Rachael I mean as more than a friend" I squealed on the inside not because my name sounded so cute coming his mouth.

"I know and so did I" I smiled as I placed my hand on top of his, where it laid on his thigh he looked back and smiled a huge grin that made his eyes crinkle. His hand turned so that he could hold mine.

"Can I make a request?" I looked down.

"Anything"

"If we decide to take this anywhere could we take it slow, I don't want to rush into something and then realize that it wouldn't have been horrible if we had just taken our time."

"Of course"

I looked up and gave him a huge smile. Then it hit me I must have looked like I got hit by a bus. I looked quickly in the rear view mirror to see a slight puffiness but nothing as bad as I thought it would be.

"Who would have thought that this was the day I was going to have" I smiled at him and to myself.

Ok so I decided that I would keep up the story just in case I felt like writing like today for example. If you like it feel free to say something if not feel free to say it anyway at least I will know you guys are reading it. Ok anyway new chapter! Hope you all are doing well!
