The arrow

Chapter 12: now the hard part

I yelled for Cole's name, but I decided to keep quiet because the other opponents might find me and kill me. I sat by a river so I could see what was in my backpack. A small canteen of water which probably wouldn't last me long, a sleeping bag, more arrows, and a small pack of food. This really fit me perfectly because I'm best with arrows. I put everything back in my bag and took out an arrow. I sat the arrow down and put some ice on one half and fire on the other, I wanted to see how this would turn out, so I waited for someone to come running by, but I decided that wouldn't work so I climbed a tree and put my bag there. I waited for a while and sang. I heard footsteps so I drew back my arrow. It was a girl with light red hair and she was with a boy who had black hair also. I think I remembered who they were because Cole told me that they control electricity, and they would kill anyone they find. So this was my chance. Ok, breathe, I can do this just draw your arrow and shoot. Cole told me the girls name was Kitty, which was the weirdest name I'd ever heard so far. I drew my arrow back once more and shot it at her right in the neck. I wanted to see what would happen with my powers. First her face went bright blue and she died instantly, then she caught on fire, then froze over. Oh my word!! That is sooo cool, I gotta do that more. The boy she was with started running, I think he hid behind a rock by a lake. I jumped down from the tree I was in and put everything back in my backpack and put it on my back. I walked quietly so he wouldn't think anyone was there, and I controlled the water with my hand and rose it up. I put water in him and picked him up with the water making a whirlpool thing around him. He was saying he would rather die somewhere else so I put him down at created a small tornado with my hand. Do you really want this? I said. I didn't let him answer because he just shot a light of electricity towards me. I felt a sharp pain go through my body over and over. I tried to put a tornado around him but I was in to much pain to. He put up his hands to do one more pulse you could call it. I was screaming and crying at the same time, it hurt so bad. I closed my eyes. Why isn't he doing anything? I opened my eye and I was still on the ground but I saw the guy dead on the floor with someone above him. He had blonde hair. I just put my face in the dirt ready to die again but instead the guy picked me up. My vision was very blurry so I could kinda see who the guy was. I saw him smile. That's a cute smile I thought to myself. It was Cole! My vision was all good now, I was just in a lot of pain. I tried to say how did you find me? But he just put his hand on my mouth and said Shhhh. He carried me and put me down. "Can you climb this?" He said. I just was up there so I could do it again. I tried and I could do it, but it hurt so bad to, Cole climbed up after me. He put medicine on my wounds. Where did you get that? I said. "I found it." He said. It was now night, and I covered up with my sleeping bag. I felt better now. We were up high in a tree trunk and it was a big enough tree trunk that we could both fit on it. "You go to sleep, I'll keep watch," Cole said. "Ok, night," I said laying my head down. Cole leaned down and kissed me. "I'm glad your ok," he said. I don't know what I'd do without you. Me to I said. This time I actually leaned in to kiss him. We kissed one more time. "Kelli, I love you," Cole said watching for other opponents. I was in shock for a second. "Y-yo-you said you loved me?" I said still shocked. "I love you to Cole!" I said. He smiled at me, and then I went to bed.
