For the passed 2 months Phil has been trying to do everything he could to keep Dan happy. He's been taking him out on dates, going to the beach, the fair.
Dan has to go on weekly checkups and keeps a tank to breath.
One night while under the stars,
Phil and Dan were holding hands.
"Aren't the stars pretty tonight." Phil spoke ,
"Yeah too bad I won't see them after I leave this world." Dan sighed
"Don't say that Dan. " Dan started to get a little agitated
"Why because you don't want to hear the fact that I won't be around? "
"Dan please.."
"Please what Phil?! " Dan stood up and Phil sat up
"I don't want to think about all that, Dan please don't. "
"Wake up Phil! Look at me, I'm dying and your acting like you don't want to hear it. Do you even care!? You've been taking me everywhere and doing everything and avoiding the fact the my body is spreading with lung cancer! Do you even care Phil , Do you?!? Dan covered his face and started to cry.
Phil stood up and wrapped his arms around Dan's waist,
"Of course I care Dan. I know your dying, but I'm trying everything in my will to live our life together, I'm trying to keep you close." Phil buried his face into Dan's shoulder.
"I don't want you to leave me Dan."
"I don't want to leave you Phil."
"Then don't. Please don't. "
"I love you Phil."
"I love you too Dan, more than you will ever know. "
