"So, what's up with your 'daddy issue'?"

"Well, the same old. Nothing tends to change." I said as I poured maple syrup on my pancakes.

"Hey take it easy on those! That doesn't pop out of this place."

I smiled. I love drowning my pancakes with syrup. It brings a smile into my face especially that it reminds me of Manila, the place I grew up.

"Yeah yeah, I heard that a thousand times Kara."It took me a few bites to realize what's the time already.

"Based on your outrageous appetite and weirded outlook, you don't know the time." She blurted.

"Well, kinda. What time is it?"

"Way beyond your curfew. It's at 2 AM."

Shit. I wasn't even managing myself. My projects are still hands down 70% unfinished. This is way worse!

"I need to hurry up and eat this fast then!"

I rushed myself in finishing five pancakes stacked together. It was an accomplishment and worth it but the immobility of being full, not so much.

"Geez. No wonder teens nowadays get diabetes." Kara shamefully exclaimed.

"Thanks for the treat Kara but I need to finish up four projects or I won't be finishing college."

"Yeah yeah, next time try to bring money, okay? I can't live my life when I keep on treating you." She replied.

I then took the glass of water in front of me and took a big gulp. After that, I started preparing for my walk home.

"Thanks, Kara! I'll be seeing you later!"

She waved goodbye as I took a step outside the cafe only to be greeted by a tall guy wearing a trench coat. He has electric blue eyes and I swear he has tantalizing looks.

"Pardon." I excused myself.

I then started walking towards the direction of my house and soon found out that 2 AM is a harsh time to go roaming around. The street beyond is littered with drunk guys coming out from the nearest bar and I had to evade them or I'll be getting myself into a fight with a full stomach. As soon as I reached the crossroad, waiting for the green light to pop, a lady in green roll neck top approached me.

"Had a good night?" She asked."Oh. Nope, just had a pancake. Full stomach." I replied with a smile.

The green light then popped up and I then crossed the road. It was a good minute or so when I saw our house. It was calm and silent, I guess Dad has had his share with the alcohol.I took a glance to see the lady in the green roll neck top following me.

"Maybe we live near each other," I said to myself with doubt. When I reached our house doorstep, I saw her stop too."Shit," I whispered to myself."You got a good place ey? Seems cozy." She exclaimed."Yep, it is. Maybe better if I get some privacy and whatnots too."
