When it was all over the same men along with others came in to escort the girls to the homes they were assigned to. Not all men were cursed beings having that wretched mark upon their bodies, the curse that made them hated by the human race. A mark much like a birth mark, all marks similar yet different. Some were lucky enough to have concealed their mark for years, some betrayed by their own wives. Women descended from cursed beings were killed if they conceived a son with a mark, some were spared because of their beauty and quality as a good wife. Thea, having aged in grace and beauty, was betrothed to The Duke of Karnett's son Aron (pronounced:ah run). Now Aron was quite the charmer, drawing young maidens into his bed every night, his looks were utterly deceiving, making you think he was quite the gentleman but he was a snake, he shouted at anyone who dared defy him, he was like a rosebush; beautiful but when you try to pick one you prick your finger, poor Thea was disgusted by the young man, which would cause problems in the marriage.
The home Thea had been sent to was completely against her existence, holding some nonexistent grudge against her, burdening her with all the work. She didn't complain about it because it gave her strength, she was able spar with grown men and win, her strength with the sword was amazing. But she would soon meet her match
