Differently Powerful

Chapter 1

I actually never thought that this day might come. I was set in the fear that I would be stuck in this sadistic place forever. Well, miracles do happen. Right? I was packing my bag which didn't at all weigh much. Mrs. Hamilton hardly took me shopping -  wait scratch that I would hardly ever get out of the house. But then as I said a miracle happened.

"Avyana, this might be sudden but it is time for you to go. I am putting you forth for an adoption." Mrs Hamilton had said.

I had just stared at her blankly just hoping this isn't one of my dreams again. But it was real. But for a girl who goes out of the house only once in a year this was frighting. Yes, you guessed it right. That girl is me. Mrs Hamilton would take the other girls out with her whenever they would want. But for me she said I was different.

"Who is it? Who finally changed your mind and how did you finally listened to me?" I asked her. Of course I was curious. Hell I was curious about the whole thing. I was curious about why did she lock me here like Rapunzel. Why me? And my parents, I had no clue about them. Since I was born I was "taken over" by Mrs Hamilton and never ever did she expose me to the world.

"She is downstairs. Come and meet her."

As I went down my heart was beating the hardest. I was nervous. What If she not a good person? But if she isn't you would know about is Avy. I thought. On the sofa sat a beautiful women with wavy brown hair and green eyes. She sat uptight. She was nervous herself, I could see.

"This is Avyana. And Avyana, this is Miss Alicia Bowman." Mrs Hamilton introduced us. Alicia looked at me and smile. She was a good person. I could see it.

"Hi Avyana. Its great meeting you and oh, you are so beautiful!" Alicia said with a spark in her eyes. I was just shocked. In a pleasent was but still. Nobody had ever called me beautiful. But now, what can I say? Today just has been different all together.

So I dragged down my suitcase taking a last look at my dorm. I had taken every bit of my stuff. I anyway hardly had any. I said goodbye to my roommates with whom I wasn't very good friends with. Once I overheard talking about me. Jealousy was all around them. I never really understood why they would be jealous of me. In fact, why would anyone be jealous of me. As I closed the door and turned Mrs Hamilton stood there and to my surprise with watery eyes. She said-

"Avyana, I want you to do me a favor. Please be safe. And understand which people to trust." A tear dripped down her face

"I don't understand what you are saying properly but yes, I will remain safe. Oh and I will come and visit you as soon as I can." I said and wiped her tears. She was a beautiful women for a sixty seven year old.

"No Avyana, this might be last time we meet. My blessing are always there with you." She said and hugged me tightly crying more fearcly. She never showed emotion when it came to me but today is a day which should be marked in history.

"What do mean? Are you going somewhere. Why cant I meet you?"

"By time you will understand now it is time for you to go" Mrs Hamilton said. Well here we go, another mystery of my life. What does she mean? But as far as I knew her in my 17 years of life I know that she inst going to answer me. She just smiled at me and kissed my forehead and said a final goodbye. She had been my family since I can remember. I had lived with her for 17 years and even though she wasn't exactly a motherly figure, she was the only one had had.

I stepped out of house and took a look at this old wrecked house which was now filled with moss. Good lord its been a year and these people don't fancy hi-gene? I took a deep breath and sighed. I was nervous sitting in the passenger seat next to Alicia. I will be live with this unknown women in an unknown place. I noticed my old house in the review mirror and I just knew my life is about to take a jump.

"So Avy, - can I call you Avy?" Alicaia asked. She was being quite hesitant with me and of course she cared what I think of her.

"Yes of course! So where do you live? Where are we going?"

"We are going to the airport right now then fly to California. We are going to live in a town called Pescadero. Have you been in an aircraft before?" She asked

"Certainly not. This is going be my first flight!" I exclaimed. Just wow. But then it struck me. She came from Calfornia to adopt? Why? I mean my town is thousand kilometers from there. Currently she was laughing on my excitment for sitting on a plane but my question just got her face blank-

"You came all the way from California to this town. Why?" I asked. Did I just ask this question too soon? She just stared at the road ahead and after a few seconds on silence she said-

"My fiance used to live here. We were having a long distance relationship. I was visiting this town for his....funereal. I was alone. And I made a decision to adopt. That is why I am here." She looked at me and smiled. She is a strong woman. I could see.

"I am sorry for your loss Alicia. You are a strong woman"

"Thank you Avy, but how do you know where California is? Mrs Hamilton said you didn't go out of the house. So I figured no school. Right?" She asked curiously.

I laughed. People often do underestimate me. I said, "I was home schooled. And I read a lot and there is TV and books and a lot of stuff. I am pretty much educated. But Mrs Hamilton didn't send me out. I didn't have a choice."

"So basically you were just locked up in a house for no reason?"

"Well my life is a mystery and that is also a mystery to me."

By this time we had reached the airport and I was all set for my first flight. Hope I live. But I was not afraid at all. Just kidding there was a whole  zoo in my stomach. We stepped inside the airport and there were just so many colors! So many Aura's! How do people take this. I can bear three Aura's of people at once but thousands? Angry, sad, happy, disgusted I could see all the emotions at once. I just stared at the floor and decided just not to look up. Its a new world for me.

Hello everybody!! Do you like it? I just LOVED writing this capter so much. And I have a lot on my mind for the next chapter! I guess you are a bit confused about the "Aura" part. Am I right? Dont worry It will be sorted out quickly

I promise that my next chapter will be longer and I will write it as soon as I can till then please like, follow and comment!
