After leaving work, I headed straight for my parents house. I parked my car next to my little sister Taylor's Black Toyota Camry. Getting out, and closing my car door, I walked up the small drive way of the two story home I grew up in. Knocking on the door, my mother immediately opened it with a big smile on her face.

"Look at my beautiful working girl" she beamed, pulling me into a tight hug. I embraced the hug, wrapping my arms around her firmly as she kissed my cheek. "Hello there mommy" I cheesed. She lets me in as I rest my over sized wheat brown MCM handbag on the couch.

"Baby out oldest is here!" She yelled as we approached the kitchen. There my dad stood at the stove wearing his famous 'Dad the Cook' apron, stirring something smelling good in a pot.

I smiled at him as he looked up at me

I smiled at him as he looked up at me. "Is that my T-Bear?" He cheesed. I ran over to him, hugging him tight as he picked me up off the ground twirling me. Be puts me down soon after, pecking my forehead.

Can you tell that I'm a Daddy's Girl.

"His daddy" I cheesed. "I missed you". "I missed you too T-Bear, how's everything?" "Everything's good. I just not too recently started building the addition to the company, and it's coming along great" I smiled sitting at the stool at the island, watching him cook.

"You did mention that to me the last time we talked, how's that going so far?" He asked taking out the cornbread from out of the oven.

"The contractor's have everything under control from what I've seen so far. It's coming along well" I informed him. He smiled at me before adding more BBQ sauce to the steaming hot ribs. "That's great honey. Who's contracted for the job?" He asked.

"Devin Madden from Madden Construction, I'm sure you heard of him" I answered. He looked at me wide eyed. "Heard of him!" He exclaimed. "I can't watch Insider, and he's not mentioned, or being interviewed. That gentleman has really made a name for himself" he says, scooping the yellow rice from the pot, and into a serving bowl.

"I guess he has. There aren't as many black businesses that took off such like his" I spoke. My dad looked over at me. "Don't forget about you my dear. Miss I'm featured in every magazine" he smirked at me. I blushed. "Whatever dad" I smiled.

"Where's that troublesome little sister of mine?" I asked. "Probably locked up in her room somewhere. She's mad that I took her car keys for skipping school last week with that same boy. She better be glad it wasn't the phone I took this time". Getting up, I straighted my skirt. "I'm gonna head up and talk to her". "Please do. I don't like the path that I see her headed in".

With that being said, I pulled off my heels, resting them by the stairs, before jogging up them. I knocked on Taylor's light pink door, hearing her say come in.

I stepped in, watching her sprawled out on the bed, typing away on her phone. "Hey sissy" she said looking over at me. "Hello to you too" I said before crawling onto her bed. She sat up, tucking her legs, before putting her phone to the side.
