14) Thin Ice

Stupid I thought to myself as I locked the car door of my all black Jeep Truck.

How stupid could I really be.

The minute I'd seen it was Nya at my front door, I should've slammed that door in her face, but my dumbass had to let her in.

Now, I'm at war with my woman who, won't even answer any of my phone calls at the moment.

Last night I ended up calling Tianni a total of 47 times, leaving 22 voice mails. I ended up texting her essay after essay explaining why the she-devil known as my ex was in my home, and how nothing happened between us.

But with her being stubborn, all my messages said delivered, and all my calls went straight to voicemail.

Walking up to her receptionist, I greeted her. "Good morning Karren. I'm wondering if i could go up, and see Ms. Chin this morning". She looked up shyly before staring at her computer screen.

"Ms. Chin would not like to see anyone at the moment. Do you have an appointment Mr. Madden?" She asked.

When did I ever need an appointment to come see her? Obviously she's in her feelings.

"No I don't have an appointment, but can you just please send me up. I come here almost everyday, and never had a problem" I informed her. She looked at me with sympathetically.

"I'm sorry Mr. Madden but Ms. Chin gave me specific instructions not to send anyone up who isn't scheduled in her Planner for the day." She tells me.

"She came in a little off this morning seeming irritated, and I don't want to send you up, and disobey her orders".
I nodded understandably. 

"Do you want me to call her?" She asked me. "Please do, and tell her there's a problem going on with construction that we need to discuss" I lied. She shook he head yes before calling her bosses extension saying exactly what I told her.

"She stays to come on right up"

"Thank you Karren, have a nice day" I smiled at her, before walking towards the elevator.

"No problem. Have a nice day Mr. Madden!" She yelled after me.

After taking the elevator to T's floor, I pulled the blood red to roses from behind my back, wondering if I should have also bought an expensive box of chocolate to go with the flowers.

Realising that It was too late, I made my way to her door. I knocked, waiting patiently.

"You may come in" I stepped in her office, closing the door softly behind me. I looked up to see the beautiful-at the moment pissed off- Tianni Chin.

She looked at me with an annoyed facial expression.

"So what's up with construction?" She asked getting straight to the point. I ignored her question, pulling the roses from behind my back.

"I got you these" I said handing her the roses. She looked at them not impressed, before resting them on the side of the desk.

"They're cute, but no thanks. Maybe the chick that was at your house last night would've liked them" she sassed. I gave her a blank expression. "Really Tianni?"

"Yes really" she sassed.                 

"But seriously what's going on with Construction? Everything was fine last time we check in".

"Everything is fine, I just needed an excuse to come see you". She simply rolled her eyes at me before getting up from her chair.

I watched a she sashayed to the door, her ass cheeks moving up and down with each step that she took.

"If there's nothing wrong, then there's nothing for us to discuss" she pulled her door open, "you can see yourself out".

Now it was my turn to give her a blank expression. "Really Tianni?" I looked at her upside her head. "Yes really. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get back to running my business".

I ignored her grabbing her wrist, and closing door behind her. I pulled her towards me. As I tried to kiss her lips, she turned her head causing the kiss to land on her cheek.

"Why are you acting like this? Can I at least explain myself?" She looked at me with her arms crossed over her juicy breasts, a pout on her lips.

"Talk to me" I wrapped my arms tighter around her waist loooking down at her.

"Who is she?"

"She's that ex from College that I told you about" she unwrapped my arms from around her waist, taking a step back. "Why was she at your house?".

"Apparently she bought the house across the street from me"

"Why were you shirtless?" Damn we playing 22 questions??

"Because I was in the comfort of my own home".

"Then why-" I quickly cut her off, pulling her back towards me.

"Listen Kitten, she was just an ex that supposedly moved into my neighborhood, and felt the need to pop up on me. Haven't seen nor talked to his woman in almost 3 years. When I say this was unexpected, you have to believe me".

She stared into my eyes for a while as if she was reading me to see if I was lying. I held eye contact with her, showing that I was telling the truth.

"That really hurt my feelings how all over you she was," she confessed running her fingers frustratingly through her hair. "Like I actually went home last night and cried about it"

"Babe-" "I'm not finished," she interrupted me. "I'm going to forget all bout his whole little thing, but if this Nia chick-",

"Nya" I corrected her.

"As I was saying, if this Nia chick pops up again, neighbor or not, I'm going to end both of y'alls lives" she smiled. I smirked at her as she sashayed around her desk.

Her crazy ass.

I watched her as she took a seat around her desk.

"So I had Ms. Tianni Chin all in her feelings last night" I teased. She looked at me crazy before, rolling her eyes.

"I know we have yet to put a title on this, but I expect commitment in whatever we have going on". She pointed at me.

"So if you can't be loyal while we're working towards something, how can you be committed to me when we are an item?"

"As I said before, I've never cheated in the past, nor will I start. You're all I want, and need right now, and I just want to see how far things between us can go."

I pulled her out of her chair making her stand up. Taking a seat in her chair, I pulled her down on my lap.

"I promise you Devin, let this chick pop up again, its gon' be me, and you"she looked back at me.

"Okay baby, I got it" I laughed.

I'm glad we could just brush this under the rug, and get over it. Hopefully Nya stays at bay, and got the message clear last night.

I wanted nothing to do with her.

I know I've been gone for a while but I promise I'm back for good. I have so much in store in this book you will not believe. I just want to thank u guys for all ur support because this book is way overdue to be finished and finalized. This was just a filler chap so keep calm. I love u guys
