Chapter 5

*Travis' point of view*

As I looked down at Kevin's unconscious body I felt like killing myself for hurting him that way. He was being protective over me and was willing to kill one of my pack members for me I couldn't let him come and I lose someone like that I would be devastated. I could feel his heart beat pitter pattering on my hand that held onto his wolf's chest.

“Raven.” I called to her and she slowly walked to me.“Yes my Alpha?” She replied halting in front of me with her tale drooping down between her legs as she looked up at me.“Take my mate and place him in my house and lock him in there and watch him till I come back.” I demanded with my blood red eyes burning into her head. She nodded and shifted with her long brown hair falling behind her and bouncing a bit. She held out her arms to accept Kevin from me. I gave him up to her and watched her gently carry him into my house and shutting the door behind them.

I had a worried look on my face and realized my pack was staring at me in awe, my pack never saw me with any other emotions than rage and lust. Just to hide it I  harden my face and whipped around and headed to the forest.“Cane!!” I shouted with my voice sound like thunder. My ear twitched when I heard a little whimper before I heard the cracking of leaves coming towards me.“Yes Alpha?" He asked fearfully.“You've smelt the Raven clan yes?” I asked to reassure my decision. He relaxed a bit realizing that what he thought I was going to do wasn't the case.“Y-yes sir.” He said a bit confidently. I nodded and glanced back at him.“Lead me.” I demanded. Seeing a slightly confused look on his face made me want to say something threating but was stopped when I saw his face expression went into a realization one and nodded. He jogged past me and stopped to sniff the ground for his target.

His body stiffened when he caught a little trace of something. His tail wagged and he raised his head and howled loudly notifying he found them and ran off into the forest. I lift my head and made a thunderous howl and ran after him with my packing following just behind.

As we ran I caught a scent that turned me nose inside out. It was the scent of depression and hate. Not a good combination for the nose. I saw a hill with a little light illuminating off a bit of it as the sun was now setting. I felt rage rushing through my body straight to my head. I howled to get the attention of my pack as I came to an halt and looked up the hill. Cane was sniffing the ground and a low growl escaped his throat as he slowly raised his head up to the hill.

“It's them.” He said reassuringly and came to my side. I couldn't reply with the amount of rage rushing through me I just grunted, howling afterwards running up the side of the hill. My pack followed me as I ran getting a better view of the village. The light was a freshly lit fire pit surrounded by tents and wooden houses, with a few people walking around with sad expressions. I rushed into the village scaring a few people, hearing a few whimpers here and there and I came to a halt right at the fire pit with my pack halting behind me. The scared and helpless expressions on their faces made me heart hurt a bit. But I stood my ground to be fierce and demanding.“Where's Frey!” I barked loudly making a few people cowered away from me. My patience was running thin and I need to know where this bastard was so I could kill him.

A man emerges from the frighten crowd of people and stared at me tensely.“Why have you come to see my Alpha?” He asked in a calm but stern tone. I cocked my head to the side and stared at him being surprised and impressed by his bravery. I step forward and slowly enclosing the gap between us as I got closer. I was now looking down my snout at him while he bravely stood up to me.“ I'm here to challenge that coward of an Alpha of yours.” I replied in a deep a raspy voice due to the rage pulsing through my veins at this point.
