Mate {BoyxBoy}

★{Prologue}★

My paws hit the floor as I ran for my life. The leaves crackling beneath my paws and also beneath the paws of the ones chasing me.

I jumped over a large root as I turned left to get them off my tail but they just kept on chasing me persistently. A few howls and growls made my ears twitch and my heart raced in my chest.

A scent of fresh river water hit my snout as I ran for my life. An idea glowed in my head instantly and I changed my course to the right and picked up my speed.

The cracking leaves and grunts grew louder behind me as I ran. I zig zag between trees to slow them down which seemed to be working at the most part.

I caught a glimpse of rushing water between the trees and my hopes skyrocketed,  causing me to  run straight ahead. As I reached the bank I hesitated to jump in. I wasn't a good swimmer but I had no choice so I stepped back a few times, then ran and jumped right in.

My body tense as the cold sensation rushed through my body but I had to focus and try to make it to the other end of the river. The currents pulled and pushed me as I paddled my way through. I felt okay until I heard the loud crashing of water in the distance not to far from my left. I glance in the direction of the sound and saw the water speeding up in that direction, going right off a cliff. My heart sped up once more, I was so surprised my heart didn't burst at this  point but I pushed my legs through the water and kept my head held high trying to make it to the other side of the river.

I whimpered a bit as my fear of dying got the best of me and I started to panic. But I kept my head on and focus to reach my destination. I was getting closer to the other side but also closer to the edge. I paddled and paddle then I felt the floor of the river beneath my feet which meant I was soon there. I paddle some more till me feet touch the bank and I shook myself to dry my wet gray fur.

I looked back at the other bank with my light blue eyes and saw the pack of wolves who were chasing me standing there staring dead at me without motion.

Then out of nowhere they started to bow as a  dark black, huge, wolf with blood red eyes walk to the edge of the shore staring directly at me.

The Alpha.

 His tail swayed in annoyance and then he raised his head and a deep rumbling howl escaped his throat and the rest of the pack howl after. Then just like that the pack ran into the forest and the alpha stood there looking at me deeply.

My fur stood up in fear when he turn around still glancing at me before fully turning and following his pack. A breath of relief left my mouth as I lowered my snout and looked at the water. After a good moment of silence my stomach growled as i looked into the water I saw the glimpse of a fish going up the river fighting the current. My mouth started to water with only one thought in mind. Time to get dinner.

As I finished my dinner I walked over to a tree I curled myself up like a ball giving myself warmth as I stared up at the stars and wondered where my previous pack was and if their okay. I know they abandon me but I still cared for them. I could bet a few still cared for me too but they couldn't do anything with the new alpha in control, he was the one who banished me so it wasn't their fault.

As my thoughts danced in my head my eyes slowly fluttered close and I drifted to sleep.
