The Fun Day

I end up staying up late again that night watching a lot of Ethan and Mark's old videos just for the heck of it. Even though I've watched most of the videos they've made, I still find it entertaining to watch their old stuff and see how much they've changed. It's 2:17 a.m. when I finally look down at my phone and see a new text from Ethan. "Why the hell is he texting me this late?" I mutter, unlocking my phone and going to my texts.

{E = Ethan, Y = You}

E: Hey, you want to maybe hang out again? I had a lot of fun at lunch. 😜

Y: Yeah sure. There's quite a bit that we can do in Durango.

E: Sounds great! When do you want to meet up? 🤔

Y: I can be back at your hotel by 10 if you want. We can grab Denny's for breakfast.

E: It's a date! Can't wait to see you! ☺️

Y: I wouldn't call it a date but okay...

E: Oh sorry... Did I wake you? I didn't actually expect you to respond so late.

Y: It's fine. I'm always up this late. I'm actually going to get to bed so I'm not a zombie on you tomorrow. Goodnight.

E: Goodnight! Sleep well! 😴

With that I switch off my phone and curl up to fall asleep.

{Time skip}

The next day I get up changing from my Harry Potter pajamas into jeans, sneakers, and a Gryffindor muscle shirt that shows a quite a bit of the side of my sports bra. I throw my hair up in a ponytail and grab my wallet and swimming suit, just in case, before heading to get Ethan(your hair is long now and it'll be short later. You have no choice over this). After I pick him up and we eat at Denny's I drive to the rec center. I get out and lead Ethan into the large building. Inside we are greeted and I pay for both of us to get full access.

"So Ethan, what do you want to do first?" I look over at him and smile.

"Why don't you choose?" He smiles back at me.

"Okay!" I walk off to the changing rooms without even telling him my plans. "Be glad that I told you to bring a swimming suite!" Laughing, I go into the changing room and change into my camouflage two-piece swimming suite. I go out to the pool and look around for Ethan. I see some messy blue hair through a few people and walk over to it. Ethan is standing there in his blue and black swimming trunks.

"You look good." I smile coming up behind him.

"Holy shiiii....zzz!" He shouts, almost cursing in front of the kids at the pool. "You scared the crud outta me!" He laughs and looks around. "Ooh! I wanna go down the slide!!!" He takes off towards the big swirly slide that almost reaches to second story ceiling on the other side of the pool. I laugh and chase after him.

"Careful! You're going to fall, Ethan!" I climb up the stairs and meet him at the top. His smile has disappeared and he looks almost afraid.

"I'm scared. Come down with me." He talks in his most childish voice causing me to laugh. I'd heard him act like a kid in his videos but him doing it right next to me is a completely different feeling.

"Fine. Sit down on the slide and I'll sit right behind you." He immediately perks up and sits at the top of the swirling blue slide. I smirk evilly and push his back causing him to lose his grip and go down without me. I laugh as he squeals in surprise and wait until he's almost at the bottom to start going down. I hit the bottom and go under the water only to surface right in front of a very upset looking Ethan with messy blue hair.

"You lied to me and pushed me down! I could've drowned!" He crosses his arms and glares playfully at me.

"You were fine, you're a big blueberry. Now come on before someone else comes down and runs into us." I grab his arm and pull him out of the kids pool. I lead him over to the deep pool, smirking because I know something that he doesn't. "I'm gonna go dive. You want to join me?" He nods and follows me over to the two diving boards. I go up the high dive while Ethan stays at the lower one. I start climbing as he goes to jump off. I pause and smile when he jumps into the freezing cold water. He surfaces, making weird noises to detest the cold, and swims to the edge to get out. I laugh as he glares up at me and dive headfirst into the pool.

We spend a good few hours messing around in the water before getting out and going to explore the rest of the building. Though I've been here countless times in the past, I haven't been anywhere but the pool and the game room. We blow off the workout area that overlooks the pool and ask about the rock wall that's in the main lobby. Eventually a worker comes to help us and Ethan and I are both suited up in harnesses and bare feet.

"Careful on the wall, no messing around so that you end up ramming into any handles, no sitting up and the top, don't be afraid to come down." The worker gives us some last minute rules in a bored, monotonous voice before letting us loose to climb as we please. I scramble up the wall using the handholds and allow my thing frame to give me an advantage. I'm definitely out of shape but that doesn't mean I can't beat Ethan to the top.

"You're like a monkey! Holy shit!" Ethan calls up to me and I glance down to see that he's only made it about six feet off the floor. Turns out the decision to look down was less smart than I had thought. The floor is now over twelve feet below me and my stomach turns at the thought of a drop. Unable to control my fears, my hands start to shake and I pin my body up against the wall.

"Hey, you okay up there?" Ethan's voice is closer but I refuse to move as I tighten my grip on the colorful fake rocks. "Hey." I feel a sudden pressure on my back and manage to turn my head to see Ethan clinging to the wall with one hand right next to me while his other hand is on my back. "You good there?"

"Y-Yeah... Just a slight fear of heights." I take a deep breath and smile at the famous YouTuber who is actually worried about me. "I'll be fine. I just need to get to the top and I'll remember how much fun rock climbing is."

"Okay. I'll be right next to you." Ethan smiles back at me before moving his hand off of my back and to the wall where he grabs one of the weird rocks. The two of us continue the climb right next to each other and I calm down a little knowing that Ethan is right beside me. Before we know it, there are no more rocks to grab and we've reached the top of the wall. In front of us is a window that looks in on the workout room and beside us another that looks out over the pool. Seeing everything around me cause the corner of my lips to curl slightly in joy.

"Down we go!" I laugh and push off of the wall leaving a confused Ethan at the top.

"Hey! Wait up!" He kicks off to and I make note of the muscles in his legs that are usually hidden by his long pants or are out of view of the camera.

"What do you say to working out a bit?" I land and crawl out of the safety harness as I wait for Ethan.
