One hundred years ago...
"What's that?!" A boy pointed to a paper laying on the ground near a tombstone.
"Don't pick it up! Jeez, we aren't even supposed to be here, Tim!" A girl yanked on the arm of her older brother.
"Woah look at the name on the tombstone!" The boy grinned.
The tombstone read "Timothy Walts, the Fear, Birthdate: unknown, Death date: 1666"
"If that isn't our sign to go, I don't know what is. Timothy, I beg you, take me home. We aren't supposed to be here. I already told you!" The girl pleaded.
"I heard you the first time." The boy looked at his younger sister annoyed. "Let's pick up the paper."
"What if its... its... the Fear's?" The girl stuttered.
"This man was clearly just trying to be funny. He died over two hundred years ago! How could that be his paper? Would you use your brain for just a second Louise?" The boy stated, clearly frustrated.
"What if the Fear... is like... the devil? It says "Death date: 1666." Louise questioned.
"JEEZ LOUISE!" The boy yelled.
He let go of his sister's hand and picked up the paper.
The paper read,

The Rules to the Fear:
1. NEVER play the Fear in the West Side Cemetery in Greenville.
2. Don't play the Fear during the day.
3. Don't taunt the Fear.
4. Don't burn the Rules to the Fear.
5. Don't play the Fear at 7:03 AM or PM.

"I told you the Fear was real! Let's get out of here!" Louise yelled.
Timothy flipped the paper over.

How to play the Fear CORRECTLY:
1. Turn off all the lights in the room your in. Pick a room with only the moonlight coming through or on a cloudy night when there is no moon.
2. Have a group of three sit in a circle as you all close your eyes.
3. Take turns saying, "We trust and welcome the Fear."
4. The Fear will show up. The Fear will do little things to scare you, but nothing to hurt you, unless you break the number 1 rule.
5. Remember, the Fear is your friend, unless you break his trust.
6. Pass on the paper. Keep the Fear alive.

"Leave the paper, Tim. Let's go..." Louise grabbed her brother's arm and yanked him.
Timothy shoved the paper into his pocket. Louise would've argued, but she just wanted to leave.
Tim wanted to show their parents, but they weren't supposed to be in the cemetery. Louise wanted to tell their parents, but, again, they weren't supposed to be in the cemetery. Louise just shoved it into the back of her mind and forgot about it.
Tim, however, couldn't get the game off his mind. He constantly was reading it and researching the man, the Fear, but he couldn't find a thing. He wasn't going to play it because it required three players, and he didn't have dumb enough friends for that. Finally, he passed the paper on to this weird girl in his school a few years later. She played and passed it on. Then the next person played and the next. No one ever got hurt, but no one ever broke the number one rule either. At least, not until last week.
