AN - Hiya guuuuuuuuys!!!! Here we go! Another update! You have no idea how close this came to not being written... I am so forgetful at the moment omg!

Anyway, like i said in the last update I have worked out an approximate number for the amount of chapters left over (emphasis on the word approximate because I have literally worked this out whilst typing the AN) but by my vague calculations there should be between 15-18 chapters left!! WTF.... This is a massive fic... It's going to be around the same length as BFY or maybe longer.... what is wrong with me........ Lost and Insecure was so short compared to these two!!!!

Anywhoooooolyyylooooolyyyyyy, I hope you like this incredibly rushed chapter, and all of the incredibly rushed chapters to come! Yodle yodle eh yodle!

Love you all, my sweetums!!

Harry was popular. Like, properly popular.

Girls wrote their numbers on his desk in his form room and one time in year 9 a girl slipped a thong into his locker; boys tried to look like him, act like him and hang out with him, Harry found himself never out of party invites; parents loved him (which would mean that Harry could get in there with any potential girlfriends, except the from fact that he never really bothered to go that far) and teachers spoke to him like he was an equal. Really, when you think about it, Harry’s popularity level was absurd.

It was this point alone that made the Monday following ‘The Incident’ (as Louis’ not-so-fondly dubbed it) even more of a shock.

Louis, Harry and Daisy were walking to school together, and Daisy’s form room fell one corridor before Harry’s, and Louis’ was two doors after Harry’s. When Daisy disappeared inside her classroom, Louis and Harry stepped closer to each other to fill the gap left behind and neither boys thought anything of it until people started whispering and staring.

Harry didn’t seem to notice anything amiss, but Louis supposed that this was because it was due course to Harry to have every eye on him. Louis, however, he was usually left alone (at least he was mostly, once he started dating Daisy), and he felt uncomfortable to have so many eyes locked on him, and so many hands covering whispering mouths leaving him worried about what words were being exchanged.

Just as Louis was leaning up to whisper his own concerns to Harry, Harry was grinning at him and slipping away into his own classroom. Louis looked around and saw a few other students still staring at him; so he slipped his hood up and walked slightly quicker than before so he could dive into the shelter of his form room.

The noise that was filling the classroom and pouring out into the corridor stopped abruptly the moment Louis let his hood fall down. Kate was sat on the windowsill with her clique, painting her acrylics a fuchsia pink and chewing a similar coloured bubble gum as she stared him down. Louis swallowed nervously, and decided it best if he just shuffled to the back and slipped into his seat in silence.

With nothing else much to do, with too many eyes locked on him, all of his friends in Harry’s form and his girlfriend in another; Louis pulled his phone out of his bag and texted Harry.

To Harry (8:43am): Are people staring at you? Xxx

Louis hoped that Harry would reply quickly, but knowing Harry’s social prowess Louis suspected that he would currently be sat in a crowd of his adoring fans. No exaggeration needed. However his phone lit up almost instantly in his hand and Louis found himself opening it with a sigh of relief, because it meant that he would no longer have to consciously keep his eyes locked to his desk.

From Harry (8:44am): I’ve had a couple of weird looks, why? Are people staring at you? Xxx

Before Louis could reply, Kate was calling out to him from across the classroom, “Texting your girlfriend, Louis?”

Louis didn’t know what this was leading to, but he shook his head because if he was anything – he was honest.

“Ooh!” Harvey, Kate’s most recent obsession, hollered, “How controversial!”

Privately Louis was vaguely impressed that someone of Harvey’s intellect (or lack thereof) knew a word with that many syllables – but he wasn’t about to make a scene of it, partly because he quite liked not getting punched, and partly because his Form Tutor had entered the room and was calling for silence, so she could take the register.

Once the class was settled, the register was taken and they had ten minutes for the bell would go for class so the teacher said they could talk quietly or do some quick revision. Louis didn’t really have anyone to talk to, and he had forgotten all of his books in his haste to leave that morning – so instead he found himself listening to these two girls sat in front of him.

“What, Harry?” One of the girls asked, she had dark hair and Louis vaguely recognised her as the girl who quit from Daisy’s cheer squad.

“Shh!” The other one hushed urgently, sparing a glance over her shoulder to check that Louis was looking - Louis had quick reflexes, he looked away in time, “Yeah Harry! Bit weird though, innit? I heard that Harry was getting it regular from Yasmin.”

The brown haired girl tore a piece of paper out of her notebook and grabbed a pen, “Just in case he hears.”

Louis knew that he was ‘he’, and wanted to know what that girl had to say that she couldn’t risk him over hearing.

~-~

Eventually the ten minutes was over, the bell went, and the form was filing out of the classroom. Louis, after some awkward shuffling, found himself wedged behind the brown haired girl; and with a single glance he saw a folded piece of note book paper poking out of her coat pocket.

Now.

Don’t judge Louis, because he had been raised to be a good and respectful young man, but you couldn’t expect him to see the piece of paper that contained words so confidential despite the fact that he was likely to be mentioned amongst them – and for him to just, leave it there? Right?

So, instead of being a good boy, Louis snuck the piece of paper out of the girl’s pocket and shoved it deep into his own.

He felt so risky.

~-~

Louis had intended to wait to read the note until he was with Harry, but halfway through Louis’ library lesson, his own curiosity won out and he was pulling the piece of paper out of his pocket and unfolding it hastily.

Yaz told me after Jake’s party that H pushed her away to run after Louis

Omg, seriously?

Apparently Louis caught them snogging on the stairs then ran out

But he’s like proper gay tho isn’t he? Fucking twat, he is.

He’s dating the blonde new girl in cheer, and anyway, H isn’t queer

Maybe H likes both?

Dunno, anyway, max texted me on sat telling me that him and his mates saw L+H on a date

I saw that on twitter. Do you know if they were they kissing?

Dunno, hope not. its fucking sick

Ugh I thought H was better than that…

Well he's better than Louis at least...

Louis was speechless. The paper was clutched between his fingers and he couldn’t tear his eyes away

‘I thought H was better than that…’

'its fucking sick'

'Well he's better than Louis at least...''

God, he felt sick.
