Chapter 1 "I smell something Fishy"
"Emma!"
"Emma!"
I groaned as I snuggled closer in my pillow. Five minutes later I heard my mother's light footsteps running up the stairs.I heard my door being opened and I already knew she sat beside me when I felt my bed sunk a little.
"Emma,honey,you're gonna be late for school," she said as she slowly stroked my hair.
I turned around to face her.My mother has a very clear and smooth complexion ever since she was born, I quite envied her once. But some said that they wished they had my naturally tanned skin that I got from my dad, whereas my light brown hair was inherited from my mom.She was fairly tall too, but I think I was a few good inches taller than her.She was smiling down at me as she pinched my cheek,"I know you're tired but you have to get to school,hon"
I sighed but smiled softly nonetheless. I slowly sat up while rubbing my eyes, I probably looked weary but I guess my mom already knew that.
"Still tired?" She asked, looking at me in amusement.
I yawned and nodded, " Yeah, last night was so great though," I smiled as I recalled last night's events. My best friends - Collin and Sarah - surprised me by saying that we were all going to an exclusive club named "Black Cat". I've never heard of it, but they both said that it's famous downtown so you could say I was pretty hyped up about going to an all-new-famous club. It was my seventeenth birthday and I could say that it was by far the best birthday I've ever had in my entire life!
"Well since last night was sooo great, why don't you come downstairs for breakfast after you take a shower,hm? She smiled as I groaned, the word 'sleep' still so fresh and present in my thoughts
.
She chuckled at my silliness as she stood up to leave my room, "Hurry up or else Collin would leave you!" she called out while she bounded down the stairs
I immediately sat up when I realized that she was probably right. Collin was a very impatient guy and would definitely leave me even if I'm five minutes late from getting inside of his car. Collin's actually my ride to school since I'm so lazy driving my own car. Yeah, I know right! What kind of person is too lazy to even drive their own freakin' car?! Me , of course! You can't blame my feet and my hands, they just get tired so easily when I do something too exhausting, like driving for example. Even cooking can be too exhausting for me, sometimes my hands get some purple shade of color for no apparent reason and that creeps me so much that even the idea of cooking can scare me to death.
I showered fast since I kinda woke up a little late than usual and just left my hair tied on a messy bun. I quickly grabbed my bag and glided down the stairs, silently praying that Collin isn't here yet.
The smell of bacon and eggs immediately hit my nose as I arrived at the kitchen. Surprisingly, Collin was already there -eating my breakfast, might I add. I glared at him playfully when he smiled at me as if he's done nothing wrong. Oh poor bacon, why'd you have to be inside his mouth? I thought sardonically
"Come on, we're gonna be late," He said, as he gulped his last bite of MY breakfast.
I simply rolled my eyes at him and grabbed the apple beside his plate. I took a quick bite out of it then bid my mom goodbye.
"Drive safely!" We heard her call out as we bounced out of the house.
~~~
Ten more minute before the bell rings.
I sighed, looking at my phone every now and then. I looked around the room and noticed that Collin and Sarah was still missing. I frowned, worried that something may have happened to the both of them.
I gasped internally, what if they got kidnapped or what if one of those bouncers last night discovered that we were all underaged?! , I mentally slapped myself for having those crazy thoughts.
Three periods have passed and neither one of them had showed up in any of our classes. I tried to call the both of them but it immediately went to both of their voicemails. Lunch came sooner than I'd expected, and evidently they still weren't here. I haven't seen Sarah since this morning except for Collin, whom ditched me right after we arrived to school.
After his sudden disappearance, I didn't see him the rest of the day. Which , of course, worried me to the core!
I sighed, for like the nth time this day but continued to listen to the endless discussion of my teacher.
