14: Returning To Hogwarts

Christmas and New Years has passed and now it's time to return to Hogwarts to finish the term. Draco and I have gotten closer over to break, naturally. We're supposed to be getting married after term ends so it would only make sense for us to be close before then. I've also gotten closer with Blaise, Brendan, Daphne, Pansy, and Scarlett.

Margarey saw Brendan, Scarlett, and I off at Platform 9 3/4 again. She was crying, just like last time, and told us to write every week. Which I had done before Christmas Holiday. I can't speak for Brendan or Scarlett but I'm pretty sure they did write at least once a week
or every other week. Scarlett splits off from Brendan and I to go sit with her friends from Ravenclaw that are in her year. The two of us go to the compartment that Blaise, Daphne, Draco, and Pansy are in.

I sit down next to Draco and Brendan sits down next to Daphne. Blaise is sitting on Draco's other side and Pansy is sitting on Daphne's other side.

"Where's Scarlet?" Daphne asks, looking at Brendan and I.

"Sitting with her friends from Ravenclaw" I reply.

"At least she's doing a good job of fitting in" Daphne replies.

"Yeah, especially among the Ravenclaw's. Back when she went to Beauxbatons, she was at the top of her class" Brendan says, looking at Daphne with extreme fondness in her eyes.

They're so adorable together and they act as if they've been dating forever even though it's only been for nearly two months. Apparently Brendan has liked her for years and the same goes for Daphne, so it makes sense that they seem that way. I suppose. They also balance each other out very well.

"Dang, she's smart just like Brie" Daphne says with a small whistle.

"Guess it runs in the family" I say with a small shrug.

"Then why isn't Brendan a genius?" Blaise says in a joking manner.

"Hey! What is that supposed to mean?" Brendan asks, faking a glare towards Blaise.

Everyone in the compartment laughs, even Brendan. We laugh for a good few minutes. It feels good to be able to laugh over such stupid things. When I used to hang out with Harry, Ron, and Ginny everything somehow revolved around stopping Voldemort or the upcoming war. Meaning we really never had chances for lighthearted laughter like this.

"Did you guys ever find out who leaked that information to the Prophet?" Pansy asks.

Right when Christmas Holiday started, The Daily Prophet had released an article about Draco and I. It was mostly about how my real identity is Briella Gaunt, not Hermione Granger. Details about Draco and I's engagement were also released to the Wizarding World. Everyone at Hogwarts already knew about my true identity and that Draco and I are a couple. The article was written by the reporter, Rita Skeeter.

Draco and I suspect that it was Ron who released the information to Rita Skeeter. He has the most 'motive' to do such a thing. Even though all I did was tell him to not talk to me again after he slapped me and called me a 'filthy slut' just for being engaged to Draco. If it wasn't him who else would've done it?

"No, but we do have a possible suspect" Draco says.

"Who is?" Pansy asks, arching a brow at Draco and I.

"Weasley" I say with a scowl.

"Which one, you need to be more specific there are like twenty of them" Pansy exaggerates.

"Ronald" Draco says, sounding disgusted to have had to say Ron's first name.

"Oh, that piece of shit" Brendan says with a foul expression on his face.

I told Blaise, Brendan, and Scarlett what Ron did to me over the holidays. Brendan and Scarlett were infuriated while Blaise was extremely suprised and angry. Blaise thought that we had a thing and the reason we stopped talking was because we broke up. The very thought of dating Ron makes me want to throw up.

"Yeah, how low can someone go" Draco says, shaking his head.

We continue to talk about the article in the Prophet and other random things the rest of the ride back to Hogsmeade station. When we arrive at the carriages there are only a few left. One has Ron, Harry, Ginny, and Neville in it. Another one has Scarlett and one of her friends in it. Brendan, Daphne, Draco, and I decide to sit with Scarlett and her friend.

Pansy and Blaise decide to sit with Theo in a different carriage.

"Hey guys" Scarlett greets us when we sit down.

Her friend is a boy who has shaggy dirty blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He's a good looking guy, maybe he and Scarlett will go out eventually. He kinda looks like Fleur Delacour, Bill Weasley's wife. Maybe they're related somehow? He's wearing Ravenclaw robes so he's in Scarlett's house.

"Who's this?" Brendan asks, his big brother mode kicking in.

"I'm Louis Martin" The boy says with a slight French accent.

"Nice to meet you, Louis. I'm Brendan, Scarlett's older brother" Brendan says, holding his hand out towards the French boy.

Louis warmly smiles at him and friendly shakes his hand.

"My pleasure, Brendan" Louis says with a smile.

"Oh, shouldn't we do quick introductions! I'm Daphne" Daphne says with a smile, sticking her perfectly manicured hand out for a hand shake.

"Pleasure to meet you, Daphne" Louis says, shaking Daphne's hand.

"I'm Draco" Draco says simply, lazily sticking his hand out.

Unfazed by Draco's lazy introduction, Louis shakes his hand with a wide smile on his face.

"I'm Briella but you can call me Brie" I say, extending my hand for a hand shake.

Louis shakes my hand with a warm smile on his face. At least the boy has manners, unlike some boys in my life.

"Pleasure to meet you, Brie" Louis says.

"So, Louis, where are you from?" Daphne asks.

It seems Brendan and Daphne are going to handle the boy interview since Margarey isn't here to do it herself. I hope they do her proud so Louis won't have to go through this a second time, if he ever meets Margarey or dates Scarlett.

"France. But my mother is English so I moved here with my parents and siblings when I was ten" Louis says.

That explains why is accent isn't extremely strong but is still somewhat present.

"Cool. I always liked to visit France when Scarlett used to go to Beuxbatons" Brendan asks.

"Ah, Beuxbatons. My older sister, Evangeline, used to go there" Louis says with a happy expression.

"Is your sisters last name also Martin?" Scarlett asks.

Louis nods his head and Scarlett smiles at him.

"Weirdly enough, I know her. Evangeline helped me learn French in my first year" Scarlett says with a chuckle.

This causes Louis and Scarlett to launch into a conversation about Louis' older sister and the French language. They seem like they would make a cute couple.

Maybe one more couple will come out of this year at Hogwarts.
